Abstract: An encoder which encodes a video including a plurality of pictures includes circuitry and memory. Using the memory, the circuitry performs: encoding a first picture among the plurality of pictures; and performing (i) a first operation for encoding a parameter set for a second picture which follows the first picture in coding order among the plurality of pictures after encoding the first picture, and encoding the second picture after encoding the parameter set, or (ii) a second operation for encoding the second picture without encoding the parameter set after encoding the first picture. The circuitry performs the first operation when the second picture is a determined picture, in the performing of the first operation or the second operation.

Abstract: A three-dimensional data encoding method includes: obtaining a data unit including three-dimensional points; generating one or more prediction trees using the three-dimensional points included in the data unit; performing predictive encoding on position information items of one or more three-dimensional points among the three-dimensional points, using a prediction tree including the one or more three-dimensional points; and generating a bitstream including encoded data resulting from the predictive encoding. In the performing, (i) a prediction value in a specific prediction mode is obtained, and (ii) one or more prediction residuals are calculated for each of the one or more three-dimensional points, the one or more prediction residuals each being a difference between a position information item of the three-dimensional point and the prediction value. In the generating of the bitstream, the bitstream including a header and the one or more prediction residuals is generated, the header including the prediction value.

A user equipment comprises: circuitry operative to map, in physical resource blocks (PRBs) for Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), Uplink Control Information (UCI) to one or more available resource elements according to their distances with resource elements where reference signals are mapped in one or more of time domain, frequency domain and spatial domain; and a transmitter operative to transmit the UCI and the reference signals in PUSCH on the PRBs to a base station.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a decoder configured to select a filter based on a block size of a first block and a block size of a second block in an image, and change values of pixels in the first block and the second block. The filter includes a first set of multipliers and a first set of offsets for the first block, and a second set of multipliers and a second set of offsets for the second block. The values of the pixels in the first block and the second block are changed by performing multiplication with each multiplier in the first set of multipliers, by performing multiplication with each multiplier in the second set of multipliers, and by using the first set of offsets and the second set of offsets.

Abstract: A transmitter apparatus wherein a simple structure is used to successfully suppress the degradation of error rate performance that otherwise would be caused by fading or the like. There are included encoding parts that encode transport data; a mapping part that performs such a mapping that encoded data sequentially formed by the encoding parts are not successively included in the same symbol, thereby forming data symbols; and a symbol interleaver that interleaves the data symbols. In this way, a low computational complexity can be used to perform an interleaving process equivalent to a bit interleaving process to effectively improve the reception quality at a receiving end.

Abstract: An encoder includes circuitry and memory. Using the memory, the circuitry, in operation, selects an encoding mode from among candidates including a decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) encoding mode and a partition encoding mode. When the DMVR encoding mode is selected, the circuitry: obtains a first motion vector for a first image block; derives a second motion vector from the first motion vector using motion search; and generates a prediction image for the first image block using the second motion vector. When the partition encoding mode is selected, the circuitry: determines a plurality of partitions in a second image block; obtains a third motion vector for each partition; and generates a prediction image for the second image block using the third motion vector, without deriving a fourth motion vector from the third motion vector using motion search.

Abstract: An encoder includes circuitry and memory. Using the memory, the circuitry performs a primary transform on a derived prediction error, performs a secondary transform on a result of the primary transform, quantizes a result of the secondary transform, and encodes a result of the quantization as data of an image. When a current block to be processed has a predetermined shape, the encoder performs the secondary transform using, among secondary transform basis candidates that are secondary bases usable in the secondary transform, only a secondary transform basis candidate having a size that is not largest size containable in the current block.
