Abstract: The invention relates to a belt tightener (1) with a mass body drive for a seat belt of a motor vehicle with a force-limiting device with—a belt shaft (3) mounted rotatably in at least one opening (15) of a housing (14) that can be fastened fixedly to the vehicle, it being possible to wind up the seat belt on said shaft, —a tightener drive wheel (24) connected non-rotatably to the belt shaft (3) and having recesses (14) distributed at regular intervals over the circumference, —a chain forming the mass body drive made of loose mass bodies (19), which are guided in a tightener tube (10) and can be driven by pressure application of the tightener tube (10), wherein—the belt shaft (3) can be driven in the winding direction of the seat belt by engagement of the driven mass bodies (19) in the recesses (14) of the tightener drive wheel (24), wherein—the mounting of the belt shaft (3) in the opening (15) of the housing (14) is designed to be flexible in the radial direction.

Abstract: A vehicular airbag device capable of improving reduction of an occupant obstruction value during a diagonal collision. A vehicular airbag device opens an airbag door on an instrument panel. The outer shape of the airbag when fully deployed and expanded is line-symmetrical with respect to a center line of the opening in a vehicle left-right width direction, and a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a rear edge of the instrument panel in the vehicle longitudinal direction is greater than a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a center of the opening in the vehicle longitudinal direction which is more forward in the vehicle longitudinal direction than the rear edge position of the instrument panel.

Abstract: A vehicle seat for supporting an occupant in a sitting position includes a backrest, and an airbag unit. The airbag unit comprises an inflatable airbag provided in an initially rolled and/or folded airbag package, and an inflator actuable to direct inflating gas into the airbag to inflate the airbag into an inflated configuration. The airbag comprises a pair of inflatable chambers which are physically connected to one another via a connecting interface, and are fluidly isolated from one another. The airbag unit is mounted and configured such that, upon actuation of said inflator to inflate the airbag, the inflatable chambers inflate into respective deployed positions in which they: i) extend forwardly from respective opposing and laterally spaced-apart side regions of said backrest; and ii) extend upwardly, and laterally inwardly across an uppermost region of the seat towards said connecting interface, so as to thereby cooperate to define an inflated shroud around at least an uppermost region of the backrest so as to extend over the sitting position and provide lateral protection to a said occupant of the seat in the sitting position.

Abstract: [Problem] To expand and deploy a hood-shaped airbag in a reliably sandwiched condition between the top of a shoulder of a seated occupant and a seatbelt in a normal set condition during a collision, and reduce injury to the occupant by a device other than an airbag such as a seatbelt or the like.
[Resolution Means] An airbag device 11 contains an airbag 12 and inflator 13 integrally covering the head 2a and a side portion of a seated occupant 2. The airbag 12 in a flat condition prior to folding has a plurality of chambers 12c demarcated in a longitudinal direction. The chamber 12c has a head protecting chamber 12ca stored in an upper portion of a backrest portion 1b of a seat 1 and a pair of side protecting chambers 12cb stored in opposing positions separated in a vehicle width direction on both left and right sides of the backrest portion 1b. At the time of expansion and deployment, the side protecting chamber 12cb expands and deploys between the seatbelt 3 and occupant 2, and thus the airbag 12 is configured such that a space S is formed between the occupant 2 and airbag 12 deployed at a position where the seatbelt 3 passes.-

Abstract: The present invention relates to an airbag device for a vehicle. The airbag device comprises: an airbag cushion which is formed in a shawl shape and deployed toward both sides of a passenger so as to wrap and restrain the entire upper body around both shoulders of the passenger when a vehicle collides; and an inflator for generating gas and supplying the gas to the airbag cushion in response to an impact detection signal when the vehicle collides. Accordingly, when a vehicle collides, the shawl-shaped airbag cushion installed on the back of a seat is inflated and deployed to restrain the both sides and front area of the upper body of a passenger around both shoulders of the passenger, thereby safely protecting the passenger.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an illuminated belt buckle (1) for a safety belt device of a motor vehicle. The illuminated belt buckle (1) comprises a housing (2), a push-button (3) displaceable in the housing (2), an insertion slot (4), bordered by an edge section (21) of the housing (2) and the push-button (3), for inserting a latch plate lockable in the belt buckle (1), at least one light source (10) and at least one light guide (11), wherein the light guide (11) is coupled to at least one light-emitting surface (12, 13) starting from a light entry surface (22). It is provided that a shielding element (14) is arranged on the light guide (11) and shields the light guide (11) at least from a housing part (7, 8, 9) of the housing (2) and/or a cavity (15) in the interior of the housing (2) in which the push-button (3) is arranged. The invention also relates to a method for producing such an illuminated belt buckle (1).
