    摘要: An illuminable vehicle interior assembly such as safety belt buckle assembly is provided. An illumination module includes a substrate, a light source supported on the substrate to emit incoherent visible light rays through a light emitting surface of the light source and a driver supported on the substrate to controllably supply electrical power to the light source based on a command signal from a remote electronic control unit over a vehicle bus. A lens is molded in a molding process to have a light transmissive output surface and a light transmissive input surface aligned with the light source. The lens gathers and receives the light rays at the input surface and redirects gathered light rays to the output surface to generate light in a pattern of substantially uniform intensity into a passenger compartment of a vehicle.

The seat belt buckle has a buckle housing, a locking mechanism, an insertion slot for a belt latch of the seat belt, an actuating button for release purposes, and an illuminating device which has at least one light source and is arranged in the seat belt buckle. The buckle housing has a light-permeable and annularly closed light outlet opening from which the coupled-in light provided by the illuminating device emerges.     摘要: The present invention relates to an illuminated belt buckle (1) for a safety belt device of a motor vehicle. The illuminated belt buckle (1) comprises a housing (2), a push-button (3) displaceable in the housing (2), an insertion slot (4), bordered by an edge section (21) of the housing (2) and the push-button (3), for inserting a latch plate lockable in the belt buckle (1), at least one light source (10) and at least one light guide (11), wherein the light guide (11) is coupled to at least one light-emitting surface (12, 13) starting from a light entry surface (22). It is provided that a shielding element (14) is arranged on the light guide (11) and shields the light guide (11) at least from a housing part (7, 8, 9) of the housing (2) and/or a cavity (15) in the interior of the housing (2) in which the push-button (3) is arranged.     摘要: In one embodiment, a system of detecting seat belt operation in a vehicle includes at least one light source configured to emit a predetermined wavelength of light onto structures within the vehicle, wherein at least one of the structures is a passenger seat belt assembly having a pattern that reflects the predetermined wavelength at a preferred luminance. At least one 3-D time of flight camera is positioned in the vehicle to receive reflected light from the structures in the vehicle and provide images of the structures that distinguish the preferred luminance of the pattern from other structures in the vehicle. A computer processor connected to computer memory and the camera includes computer readable instructions causing the processor to reconstruct 3-D information in regard to respective images of the structures and calculate a depth measurement of the distance of the reflective pattern on the passenger seat belt assembly from the camera.
