Abstract:
The present invention is an airbag device equipped in a vehicle seat having a seat cushion forming a seat surface and a seatback forming a backrest, containing: an inflator; and an airbag that is stowed in the seatback and deployed by the expansion gas discharged from the inflator. The airbag includes a pair of left and right side chambers that deploy from the side parts of the seatback forward and an upper chamber that is provided continuously with the side chambers and deploys above the head of the occupant. The airbag, from a state of being spread out before stowing, is rolled or folded and compressed in a long rod shape in a direction intersecting a longitudinal direction. The location corresponding to the upper chamber of the long rod-shaped airbag is stowed in a stowing part at the rear surface of the headrest at the upper part of the seatback.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat includes a seat back, an inflator, and a side airbag. The side airbag includes a head chamber housed along an upper frame of the seat back and configured to inflate and deploy between a shoulder belt and a head in response to supply of gas from the inflator in an event of side collision. The head chamber is housed while being folded in a seat up-and-down direction to reduce a vertical width and then rolled from a front end in a seat fore-and-aft direction.
Abstract:
An airbag device installed in a vehicle seat having a seat cushion forming a seat surface and a seatback forming a backrest, being provided with an inflator stowed in one side portion of the seatback that generates inflation gas, and an airbag stowed in the seatback in a rolled or folded state that deploys from one side portion by the inflator releasing the inflation gas. The airbag deploys toward the front of the seatback and includes an upper chamber region for protecting at least around the head and neck of the occupant and a lower chamber region for protecting mainly from the waist to the shoulders of the occupant.
Abstract:
An airbag device installed in a vehicle seat having a seat cushion forming the seat surface and a seatback forming the backrest, and an inflator that generates expansion gas and an airbag that is deployed by the expansion gas released from said inflator. The airbag includes a pair of left and right side chambers that deploy forward from the side of the seatback and primarily protect the occupant's waist to shoulders, and an upper chamber that is continuous with the side chambers, deploys forward above the side chambers, and mainly protects the occupant's neck and head. On the left and right sides of the seatback, the location on the side where the seatbelt crosses near the shoulder is the first side, and the side opposite to said first side is the second side. A recess is formed on the first side of the airbag where the seatbelt fits.
Abstract:
A vehicular curtain airbag apparatus and an attachment structure configured not to interfere with a driver seat airbag and being able to appropriately provide occupant protection performance either in normal and small overlap collision modes, and the curtain airbag having a simple configuration. The apparatus includes a main chamber having a front end to be deployed and inflated at a position near a front pillar, and an additional chamber further toward a vehicle front side and to be deployed and inflated, and separated from the main chamber by a partition portion between the front pillar and an inflation area of a driver seat airbag. The additional chamber is folded back near the partition portion toward the vehicle interior and a rear of the vehicle to overlap the main chamber, and parts of a resultant overlapping portion corresponding to upper portions of the main and additional chambers or vicinities of the parts are coupled together to form a chamber coupling portion.
Abstract:
A curtain airbag housed in an upper part of a side surface portion in a vehicle interior and inflating and deploying along the side surface portion. The curtain airbag includes an end chamber at a front end portion of the curtain airbag that inflates when receiving an inflation and deployment gas. A strap is attached, at a leading end portion thereof, to a first attachment point P on a front pillar 114 of the vehicle and passes through an exterior side of the end chamber, and moreover attached, at a rear end portion thereof, to a seam portion 144 that defines the end chamber. The first attachment portion is set to include a second plane L2 that is vertically below, but parallel to a first plane L1 passing through an A1 break point that is a center of an impact expected area E overlapped with the end chamber.
Abstract:
An airbag device equipped in a vehicle seat. The vehicle seat has a structure in which a seat frame is arranged with left and right sides inside the seat back. The airbag device according to the present invention includes: an inflator that is secured to the side of the seat frame of the vehicle seat and an airbag that is stowed inside the seat back in an elongated and compressed state and is expanded and deployed by the expansion gas discharged from the inflator. The airbag in the stowed state is arranged along the seat frame, and includes a lower portion area lower than the inflator and an upper portion area above the inflator. The lower portion area is arranged inside the seat frame, and the upper portion area is arranged outside the seat frame.
Abstract:
[Problem] To expand and deploy a hood-shaped airbag in a reliably sandwiched condition between the top of a shoulder of a seated occupant and a seatbelt in a normal set condition during a collision, and reduce injury to the occupant by a device other than an airbag such as a seatbelt or the like. [Resolution Means] An airbag device 11 contains an airbag 12 and inflator 13 integrally covering the head 2a and a side portion of a seated occupant 2. The airbag 12 in a flat condition prior to folding has a plurality of chambers 12c demarcated in a longitudinal direction. The chamber 12c has a head protecting chamber 12ca stored in an upper portion of a backrest portion 1b of a seat 1 and a pair of side protecting chambers 12cb stored in opposing positions separated in a vehicle width direction on both left and right sides of the backrest portion 1b. At the time of expansion and deployment, the side protecting chamber 12cb expands and deploys between the seatbelt 3 and occupant 2, and thus the airbag 12 is configured such that a space S is formed between the occupant 2 and airbag 12 deployed at a position where the seatbelt 3 passes.
Abstract:
An airbag device has a first side cushion that expands forward to cover one side of an occupant seated in the seat of the vehicle, a second side cushion that expands forward to cover the other side of the occupant, at least one inflator that injects gas to inflate the first side cushion and the second side cushion, and a connection that connects the first side cushion and the second side cushion. The connecting part is deployed so as to pass through the rear surface region between the seat 1 and the occupant above the seat surface of the seat in the fully expanded state when the expansion and deployment of each side cushion and is complete, and is held in place by the occupant, pulling each side cushion and inward.
Abstract:
An airbag device includes a driver airbag cushion and a curtain airbag cushion. The curtain airbag cushion includes a first seam portion formed so as to extend vertically within a range in which the driver airbag cushion is projected outward in the vehicle width direction, a first chamber expanding so as to be thicker in the vehicle width direction than the first seam portion on the front side of the first seam portion, and a second chamber expanding so as to be thicker in the vehicle width direction than the first seam portion on the rear side of the first seam portion. The driver airbag cushion is expanded and deployed in a state separated from the first chamber while being in contact with a curved portion of the second chamber that is curved toward the first seam portion.
