摘要: A method and system for determining a position of a rail-bound vehicle on a railway is disclosed. The apparatus comprises: a transmitter and receiver for wireless communication with at least one base station arranged at a predetermined position in the vicinity of the railway; a measurement device to determine a distance to said at least one base station based on measurements of the radio signals of said wireless communication in the time domain and/or phase domain; and a controller arranged to determine a present position of said vehicle on said railway based on said distance. A control system/method for controlling rail-bound vehicles in a railway system, and/or an internal or external system related to such rail-bound vehicles, using such position determination is also disclosed.

摘要: Wireless communication systems for an aircraft are disclosed. In an embodiment, the wireless communication system includes a router, an antenna, a control unit, and an antenna steering unit. The router is connected to the antenna. The router is configured to transmit and receive wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside the aircraft through at least one ground base station via the antenna. The antenna is a directional antenna. The control unit is configured to determine an attitude change of the aircraft by determining a change in at least one of a roll angle, a pitch angle, and a yaw angle of the aircraft. The antenna steering unit is connected to the control unit. The antenna steering unit is configured to steer an antenna beam of the directional antenna based on the attitude change of the aircraft.

摘要: A system and method for providing wireless data communication between a wireless communication system in an aircraft and a stationary communication server outside the aircraft are disclosed. The wireless communication system includes a router network connected to a plurality of antennas, wherein the router network is configured to transmit and receive wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside said aircraft through at least one ground base station via said antennas. The router network includes a plurality of connectivity nodes being physically separated and distributed within the aircraft, the connectivity nodes being connected to each other via a bus, and each connectivity node including a control unit, at least one modem, and preferably a plurality of modems, and a connection to at least one of the antennas. Further, each antenna is connected only to one of the connectivity nodes.

The communication system includes at least one router in the train for receiving and transmitting wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside the train through at least one exterior mobile network via at least one antenna. The router includes a control unit configured to allocate bandwidth according to a predefined packet policy to streams of data packets which are matched to the predefined packet policies, providing for a very efficient bandwidth management in a wireless network within a train. Hereby, is easy to prioritize voice-over-IP (VOIP) and/or VPN traffic over video traffic.

摘要: A method for identifying an alteration of an object in the vicinity of a train in operation travelling on a rail track along a route. The train is operative to transport passengers or cargo. The method includes capturing image data of an object located at a point of interest along said route when said train is operational on said rail track. Furthermore, said image data is analyzed to find matching reference image data stored in a data storage device. Based on said matching reference image data, said object is located at a position within said point of interest. Further, said image data is analyzed to find an alteration of said object compared to said matching reference image data. If an alteration is found, an action depending may be taken.

摘要: A vehicle communication system is disclosed, for use on e.g. trains, ferries and busses. The system includes an internal local area network (LAN) arranged within the vehicle; at least one antenna for wireless communication with external wide area networks (WAN) outside the vehicle; and a data communication router for providing data communication between said internal LAN and said external WANs. The data communication router includes a plurality of modems for communication with said external WANs, a subscriber identity module (SIM) pool including a plurality of SIMs, and a controller capable of periodically assigning SIMs within said SIM pool to any one of said modems. Hereby, a very efficient use of the modems and SIMs is obtained, leading to a less costly system and a more efficient communication.
