    摘要: Apparatus for detecting the position of a probe relative to a workpiece, for example probe contact with the workpiece, is disclosed. The apparatus includes a transducer for converting probe contact to an electrical signal and a plurality of light emitting semiconductors for wirelessly transmitting an indication of the occurrence of the signal via infrared radiation. The apparatus is capable of operation with either a mechanical switch type probe transducer or a current measuring transformer type probe transducer. The apparatus is easily adapted to transmit the occurrence of probe contact by either amplitude modulation or frequency modulation of the emitted infrared radiation.

    摘要: A part sizing system in which the upper and lower tolerance limits are illuminated on the same bar graph display. Electrical representations of the upper and lower tolerance limits are alternately coupled to the bar graph display so as to superimpose visual indications of both limits on one another, with each limit being distinguishable from each other by different light intensities. In one embodiment this bar graph display is disposed adjacent another bar graph display in the same housing. The other bar graph display is utilized to provide a visual indication of the output of at least one variable reluctance transducer which measures the size of the part under test. Improved transducer excitation circuitry is also provided for insuring accurate measurements.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for controlling the operation of a grinding machine of the type comprising a circular grinding wheel adapted to rotate about its axis and a spindle adapted to hold a workpiece at a position radially spaced from the grinding wheel. The grinding machine includes slide means for advancing the grinding wheel into the workpiece, such means being powered by a threaded shaft and boss arrangement, and "jump-on" gauge means for measuring the diameter of the workpiece and providing an electrical output signal which is used to control feedrate. Feedrate is determined by a microprocessor which is connected to receive the gauge signal and to produce a feed program which will produce a given final diameter in a given time.
