    摘要: A sweep generator circuit for use with a cathode ray oscilloscope. It provides for a high duty-cycle by eliminating the discharge and recovery time of a conventional sweep generator circuit. This is accomplished by alternately charging and discharging the timing capacitor at equal rates, forming linear up and down ramp signals. Then, by amplifying the ramp signals along with synchronously reversing the polarity of the amplified down ramp signals, using electronic switching, identical unidirectional sweeps are produced during both charging and discharging times of the timing capacitor.

    摘要: Ramp signals having rounded starts and finishes are provided through the method of producing an electrical voltage signal comprised of approximately circular portions and approximately straight line portions wherein the straight line portions are approximately tangential to the circular portions. In achieving the desired ramp signals, suitable circuitry is provided in which, in one embodiment, a high gain amplifier is selectively fed a step input voltage to initiate the ramp signal. The amplifier has a voltage limited output and is series connected to a first integrator. The first integrator has a voltage limited output and is series connected to a second integrator which produces the required ramp signal. The circuit also contains two feedback loops. The output from the first integrator is fed to the input of the high gain amplifier via an inverting amplifier. The output of the second integrator is fed to the high gain amplifier via a resistor. When the step input voltage is reduced to zero volts, the circuit produces a smoothed ramp signal in the reverse direction.

    摘要: A cathode ray oscilloscope deflection system selectively displays an integral number of cycles of a periodic or quasi-periodic input signal, regardless of the frequency of the signal. A wide band phase locked loop, synchronized to the input signal, generates pulses at a pulse repetition rate that is an integral multiple of the frequency of the input signal. A ripple counter converts the pulses into a staircase, x-axis deflection signal having a period equal to the duration of the number of cycles of the input signal selected for display and a predetermined maximum amplitude so that the x-axis of the scope is always swept the same distance regardless of the frequency of the input signal. The number of cycles displayed is determined by the repetition rate of the phase locked loop pulses relative to the frequency of the input signal. The repetition rate of the loop pulses is controlled by: (a) a first binary divider for controlling which of the fundamental or integral submultiple frequency of the input signal to which the phase locked loop is synchronized, and/or (b) a second binary divider circuit for controlling the pulse repetition rate of feedback pulses in the phase locked loop. Frequency or period of the input signal is displayed by a digital frequency or period meter that monitors the loop pulses.

    摘要: A cathode ray tube deflection system which consists of a series of weighted current steps utilizing switches to drive a deflection coil directionally sweeping over a screen. A transistor isolates the deflection coil from the switches. When a switch activates or closes, the transistor saturates and the current through the deflection coil rises linearly. The current through the deflection coil is limited to that determined by the current summation through resistor circuits connected to the switches or input terminals. The amount of current passage through the deflector coil determines the amount of movement over the screen.
