摘要: A computer system may receive a request that includes a requested weight quantity of an item and identifies the item. The computer system may use this information to lookup correlating information for the item. The correlating information may correlate item weight with item quantity. The computer system may use the correlating information and the weight quantity to determine a corresponding numerical quantity of the item. A visual indicator that represents the numerical quantity of the item may be presented in a user interface to provide context for how the requested weight quantity translates to the numerical quantity.

摘要: Disclosed are various embodiments for a container execution environment. In one embodiment, a container is executed in a virtual machine instance running on a computing device. A container control plane is executed separately from the virtual machine instance in an off-load device operably coupled to the computing device via a hardware interconnect interface. The container is managed using the container control plane executing on the off-load device.

摘要: A set of operations is performed to cause a resource accessible to a first set of entities to also be accessible to a member of a second set of entities, where the set of operations, as a result of being executed, causes a processor to create a project to associate with a set of resources, associate a policy that controls access to the set of resources with the projects, associate the resource with the set of resources of the project, and associate the member of the second set of entities with the project. A request is obtained from the member of the second set of entities to access the resource. The member of the second set of entities is determine to be authorized to access the resource based on the policy. The member of the second set of entities is allowed to obtain access to the resource.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for efficient handling of user requests to access shared resources in a distributed system, which handling may include throttling access to resources on a per-resource basis. A distributed load-balancing system can be logically represented as a hierarchical token bucket cache, where a global cache contains token buckets corresponding to individual resources whose tokens can be dispensed to service hosts each maintaining a local cache with token buckets that limit the servicing of requests to access those resources. Local and global caches can be implemented with a variant of a lazy token bucket algorithm to enable limiting the amount of communication required to manage cache state. High granularity of resource management can thus enable increased throttle limits on user accounts without risking overutilization of individual resources.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for on-demand code execution that uses a client's host computing environment with native hypervisors. The client's host computing device receives a configuration application library. An agent process is executed on the host computing device from the configuration application library. The agent process is executed in association with a first user profile that gives the process rights to configure the client host computing device. The agent process receives, from a service external to the client host computing environment/device/native hypervisor, a code-execution request on behalf of a second user profile. The agent process provisions an execution environment on behalf of the second user profile. The execution environment runs on the native hypervisor. The code instructions are executed in the execution environment under the second user profile. The agent process monitors the code execution and receives a status regarding the execution of the code in the execution environment. The agent process further transmits the status back to the service.

摘要: Techniques are described for providing service availability zones for computing-related services provided by a cloud provider network. According to some embodiments, the use of service availability zones enables users to achieve greater availability assurance for workloads sensitive to downtime or outages. The sensitivity of such workloads to downtime may be due to financial, regulatory, safety, or other reasons. Such availability-sensitive applications may in some cases be configured to run in multiple regions of a cloud provider network to increase their availability compared to running in a single availability zone. However, for some applications, the implementation of an application across multiple regions may not be feasible or desirable. The use of service availability zones provides user-visible fault domains within a single region of a cloud provider network, thereby enabling users to readily and reliably achieve application layer availability of approximately 99.999% for a service within a single region.
