Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes calculating ideal resource apportionments from a current set of consumable resources for each of a plurality of reservations. Each reservation corresponds to one of a plurality of customers. The method further includes running an apportionment process relative to the plurality of reservations. The running includes attempting to apportionment for each reservation. Each customer's actual resource apportionment comprises a sum of the actual resource apportionments for the customer's reservations. In addition, the method includes, responsive to an indication of unapportioned resources following the running, performing a first optimization to increase resource utilization by at least one needy customer.

Abstract: A system for applying metadata tags based on metadata tag groups is described. The system includes a plurality of compute nodes configured to provide a plurality of computing resources for clients of a provider network and a resource tag manager for the provider network. The resource tag manager is configured to receive, from a first client of an account of the provider network, a creation request to establish a resource attribute group comprising a plurality of resource keys and a plurality of resource values, wherein respective metadata keys correspond to respective resource values. The resource tag manager may receive, from a second client of the account, an application request to apply the resource attribute group to a computing resource and apply the plurality of resource keys and the plurality of resource values to metadata maintained for the computing resource.

Abstract: This application discloses a multi-hop transmission method and an apparatus, which are applicable to fields such as V2X, internet of vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, assisted driving, and intelligent driving, to resolve a problem that a multi-hop transmission latency is large in a conventional technology. In example embodiments, terminal devices participating in multi-hop transmission may share a shared resource pool. A first terminal device and a second terminal device participating in the multi-hop transmission are used as an example. The multi-hop transmission method includes: sending, by the first terminal device, data to the second terminal device on a first resource in the shared resource pool; and if the first terminal device fails to send the data on the first resource, retransmitting, by the first terminal device, the data to the second terminal device on a second resource in the shared resource pool.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for allocating computation capability. A network compute orchestrator (NCO) receives a request for service from a requester device. The NCO determines a required compute grade requirement for the service, and a maximum acceptable latency for the service. The NCO accesses a data structure that stores for each of a network arrangement of network devices: a number and type of available compute units, and latency to the requester device. The NCO selects a network device of the network arrangement of network devices that has an available compute unit meeting the required compute grade requirement, and has latency to the requester device that is lower than the maximum acceptable latency for the service. The NCO causes the selected network device of the network arrangement of network devices to perform the requested service for the requester device.

Abstract: Systems, computer program products, and methods are described herein for detecting and preventing misappropriation attempts based on initiator device data and dynamic rules. The present disclosure is configured to identify a current resource transmission request from an initiator device; generate a resource transmission category type for the current resource transmission request; identify initiator device data associated with the initiator device; generate a distributed ledger associated with the initiator device; identify at least one smart contract associated with the distributed ledger; generate, based on the at least one smart contract, a dynamic resource transmission rule tree; update the current resource transmission request node with at least one of an acceptable indicator or a hold indicator based on the at least one resource transmission category; and allow, in an instance where the current resource transmission request node comprises the acceptable indicator, the current resource transmission request.

Abstract: Techniques for efficient reporting of a health status of a system resource are disclosed. In some embodiments, a computer system performs a method comprising: computing a connection failure rate value of a resource based on connection failure rate data indicating a rate at which requests to connect to the resource failed; computing an operation failure rate value of the resource based on operation failure rate data indicating a rate at which requests for the resource to execute a resource operation failed; determining that the connection failure rate value satisfies a connection failure condition or the operation failure rate value satisfies an operation failure condition; based on the determining that the connection failure rate value or the operation failure rate value satisfies its respective failure condition, attempting to establish a connection to the resource; and determining a status of the resource based on the attempting to establish the connection.
