    摘要: The invention is a terminal, system and method for providing inter-frequency and inter-system handovers. A terminal 20′ in accordance with the invention includes at least one radio transceiver including P radio receivers and at least one transmitter (16) with P being an integer at least equal to 2. Each radio receiver includes an antenna (41) which receives M encoded data streams. A terminal controller 18 controls the that at least one radio transceiver. In response to a transmission that the terminal is to operate at least one of the radio receiver chains in at least one frequency band not used to receive the M encoded data streams during at least one identified data frame therein to measure a radio indicator of the at least one frequency band not used to receive the M encoded data streams, the terminal controller causes at least one of the radio receiver chains to be turned to the at least one frequency band during the at least one identified data frame and to make measurements therein and to transmit the measurements with at least one transmitter of the at least one radio transceiver to a station (24).

In the method, the radio network subsystem transmits a dedicated control channel to the user equipment and a dedicated traffic channel of variable data transmission rate to the user equipment. During transmission, the radio network subsystem spreads each channel with a spreading code, and the spreading code used to spread the traffic channel is changed according to the required data transmission rate. According to the invention, each control channel frame indicates the spreading code with which the corresponding traffic channel is spread when transmitted.

    摘要: Handing over a mobile terminal MT from a serving base station BS to a target BS employs a handover window HW during which the MT monitors a shared control channel of the target BS. The network determines whether to handover based on a MT measurement report. Once handover is determined, the serving BS sends over its shared data channel to the MT information about the target BS's shared control channel and a HW during which to monitor. The serving BS restricts transmissions to the MT to avoid the HW, which recurs in fixed intervals. The MT monitors the target BS's control channel during HWs, and the target BS sends the MT its identification in an HW, followed by data for the MT on the target BS's shared data channel. A handover confirmation message is then sent by the MT to the target BS, or by the target BS to an RNC.

    摘要: A method and device for initiating uplink data packet communication from a mobile device to a base station on a common packet channel is disclosed. The communication is initiated when the mobile device reads broadcast status of common packet channels, after which the mobile device sends an access preamble to the base station that is acknowledged by the base station, and then the mobile device sends a collision preamble which the base station answers with a matching collision response. If the base station's response to the collision preamble also includes a channel allocation message, then the base station begins uplink data packet communication on an allocated channel provided that the allocated channel previously had free broadcast status. However, if the base station's response to the collision preamble includes a channel allocation message designating channel(s) not previously having free broadcast status, then the mobile device's access attempt is aborted.

    摘要: The invention relates to a data transmission method used in a CDMA-type radio system. A base station and terminal equipments exchange data at least in a packet switched mode, and a terminal equipment transmits to the base station on a random access channel a random access signal comprising at least a preamble (100) and a data part (102) multiplied by a spreading code. A predetermined set of spreading codes and signature sequences (104) are stored in the terminal equipment, and each signature sequence (104) determines one spreading code. The terminal equipment selects one signature sequence (104) by a random process from the set of signature sequences and adds the selected signature sequence (104) to the preamble (100) of the random access signal. Further, the terminal equipment uses the spreading code corresponding to the selected signature sequence (104) in the data part (102) of the random access signal. Interference cancellation is performed at the base station according to the signature sequence (104) of the preamble (100) of the received random access signal, such that at least the interference caused by the received data part (102) is eliminated from at least one other received signal in order to improve detection.
