A wheel rim includes an annular rim body having a horizontally disposed rim axis and an imaginary central plane that is perpendicular to the rim axis. The rim body includes a pair of annular side walls, an annular base wall, a pair of annular strengthening walls, and an annular reinforcing wall. The annular side walls are disposed respectively on opposite sides of the imaginary central plane. The annular base wall interconnects the annular side walls. Each of the annular strengthening walls extends from a respective one of the annular side walls toward the imaginary central plane and is disposed radially outward relative to the annular base wall. The reinforcing wall includes a pair of connecting segments, each of which interconnects the annular base wall and a respective one of the annular strengthening walls, and a reinforcing protruding segment that protrudes radially and outwardly relative to the rim axis.

A wheel rim includes an annular base wall, annular left and right tire-retaining walls, and an annular reinforcing wall. The annular base wall includes an annular array of first through holes spaced apart from each other. The annular left and right tire-retaining walls are spaced apart from each other, and extend radially and outwardly from the annular base wall. The annular reinforcing wall includes an annular wall portion extending between the left and right tire-retaining walls and spaced apart from the annular base wall, and a plurality of hollow projections aligned radially and respectively with the first through holes. Each of the hollow projections defines a second through hole. Each of the hollow projections is formed as one piece with and projects from the annular wall portion of the annular reinforcing wall.

A lightweight wheel rim includes a pair of annular side walls, an annular inner wall, and two annular angle elements. The angle elements are disposed respectively at two opposite sides of the inner wall. Each of the angle elements has two opposite sides that are formed respectively and integrally with the inner wall and a radial inner end of a corresponding one of the side walls, and a plurality of alternately arranged mounting portions and dented portions. Each of the mounting portions has a mounting hole for extension of a spoke unit therethrough.

A bicycle wheel rim includes a rim body with annular left and right tire retaining walls, an annular spoke mounting wall, and a tire retaining cavity. The tire retaining walls are spaced apart from each other. Each of the tire retaining walls has a radial inner edge proximate to a central axis of the rim body, and a radial out edge distal to the central axis. The spoke mounting wall interconnects the radial inner edges of the tire retaining walls, and is formed with a set of spoke mounting holes. The tire retaining cavity is formed between the tire retaining walls, and is configured to have two opposite lateral cavity parts and an intermediate cavity part between the lateral cavity parts. The lateral cavity parts are deeper than the intermediate cavity part with respect to the radial out edges of the tire retaining walls.

A bicycle wheel rim includes an annular rim body having a central axis. The annular rim body includes annular left and right side walls spaced apart from each other. Each of the side walls has a radial inner edge proximate to the central axis, a radial outer edge distal to the central axis, and a lateral outer brake pad contacting surface opposite to the other one of the side walls. The annular rim body further includes an annular base wall interconnecting the radial inner edges of the left and right side walls. The brake pad contacting surface of each of the side walls is formed with a wear-indicating projection adapted to be in frictional contact with a brake pad. The wear-indicating projection is formed as a continuous annular projection that extends along a respective one of the side walls. The brake pad contacting surface gradually wears out during use of the bicycle wheel rim to eventually render the wear-indicating projection to wear off, thereby indicating that wearing of the bicycle wheel rim to a predetermined extent has occurred.
