    摘要： A rim for a vehicle wheel, including: an axial axis; a radial axis; a spoke bed wall having an outboard surface, an inboard surface, and a radial thickness; a spoke hole to receive a spoke having an outboard opening and a spoke hole axis. At least one of the inboard surface and outboard surface is radially variable to provide a first radial thickness region laterally surrounding said spoke hole and a second radial thickness region of reduced radial thickness relative to the first radial thickness region. The outboard surface includes a radially inwardly recessed surface within the first radial thickness region. At least a portion of the recessed surface is configured to provide a bearing surface for engagement with the spoke and to support of spoke tension forces.

    摘要： A bicycle rim structure includes a rim. The rim has two side portions, an inner annular portion, and an outer annular portion. The two side portions, the inner annular portion and the outer annular portion surround a hollow area. The inner annular portion has a thickness greater than that of the side portions to form an inner raised portion extending toward the hollow ara. An arc-shaped abutting groove is formed on the inner raised portion. The arc-shaped abutting groove is formed with a plurality of equally spaced spoke holes each configured to receive a spoke nipple. The spoke nipple has a head portion and a neck portion. One end of a spoke is connected to the neck portion. A surface of the curved abutting groove supports two sides of the head portion.

    摘要： A bicycle wheel rim having a circular base portion including a proximal surface and a distal surface, and a pair of integral sidewalls extending generally radially outward from an intersection region of the proximal surface and the distal surface. The distal surface of the rim has a central hump, a trough contiguous with the central hump extending axially outward from the hump, and a flat shelf immediately adjacent, contiguous with, and extending axially outward from the trough. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to a bicycle wheel including the embodied rim, a plurality a spokes engaged at respective ends thereof with the rim and a hub engaged with the plurality of spoke members at opposite ends thereof. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to a bicycle wheel assembly comprising the embodied wheel and a tube and/or tire mounted on the rim.
