    摘要: A bicycle wheel rim having a circular base portion including a proximal surface and a distal surface, and a pair of integral sidewalls extending generally radially outward from an intersection region of the proximal surface and the distal surface. The distal surface of the rim has a central hump, a trough contiguous with the central hump extending axially outward from the hump, and a flat shelf immediately adjacent, contiguous with, and extending axially outward from the trough. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to a bicycle wheel including the embodied rim, a plurality a spokes engaged at respective ends thereof with the rim and a hub engaged with the plurality of spoke members at opposite ends thereof. Another embodiment of the invention is directed to a bicycle wheel assembly comprising the embodied wheel and a tube and/or tire mounted on the rim.

    摘要: A vehicle safety wheel is disclosed having a central disk and a rim concentrically disposed around the central disk. The central disk is compatible for mounting to a vintage hub with conventional wheel mounting hardware. The rim has an inboard flange and an outboard flange for mounting a tire to the rim, and an inner flange disposed inwardly of the outboard flange, concentric with the outboard flange for defining an annular-shaped space there-between. A fascia is adapted for mounting in the annular-shaped space, circumferentially extending between the outboard flange and the inner flange, with the fascia forming a visually continuous surface with a sidewall of the tire. The fascia may be embedded with a light source which is controlled in brightness and flashing by one of an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a brake sensor, and a turn sensor.

The wheel is mounted to the OEM lugs using the OEM lug nuts eliminating extra lug nuts, an adapter plate, and requiring only one wrench size for removal and mounting of the wheel. Additionally, the wheel may be 40-80 pounds lighter per wheel than the prior art hi-rail wheels and adapters.
