Abstract:
A wheel rim includes an annular rim body that has an annular base wall, a pair of annular side walls, and a stop unit. The annular side walls extend respectively from lateral edges of the annular base wall. Each annular side wall includes a hollow segment and a connecting segment that interconnects the hollow segment and the annular base wall. Each hollow segment has an inner wall portion, an outer wall portion, and a tire bead retaining part projecting from the inner wall portion toward the other one of the annular side walls. Each inner wall portion is adapted for contacting a respective one of tire beads of a tire and cooperates with the stop unit and the respective tire bead retaining part to retain the respective tire bead.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a new gene encoding a glycine-rich polypeptide, and an expression vector, host cell and transgenic plant comprising the gene. The expression of the gene of the invention in the plant will enhance resistance against a wide variety of pathogens, in particular fungi.
Abstract:
A retaining device includes a pair of annular retaining members and a pair of securing members. Each annular retaining member is adapted to be interposed between an axle and enlarged head portions of spoke tightening members in an annular space defined between the axle and an annular inner peripheral wall of a tubular mount member. The annular retaining member includes an annular inner ring portion sleeved on the axle, an annular outer ring portion surrounding and rotatable relative to the annular inner ring portion, and a rolling element disposed between the annular inner and outer ring portions. Each securing member is disposed to secure the annular inner ring portion on the axle such that the annular outer ring portion faces towards the enlarged head portions so as to guard shoulders of the spoke tightening members against being loosened from abutment with the inner peripheral wall.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim includes spaced left and right annular tire retaining walls adapted for retaining a bicycle tire therebetween. Each of the tire retaining walls has a central axis, a radial inner edge proximate to the central axis, a radial outer edge distal to the central axis, and a brake pad contacting surface opposite to the other one of the tire retaining walls. An annular spoke mounting wall interconnects the radial inner edges of the tire retaining walls. The brake pad contacting surface of at least one of the tire retaining walls is formed with a plurality of radial grooves which are spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction relative to the central axis and which extend along radial directions of the tire retaining walls from the radial inner edge to the radial outer edge. Each of the radial grooves has at least two opposite open ends formed respectively through the radial inner and radial outer edges.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim used for mounting a plurality of spokes thereon includes spaced left and right annular tire retaining walls adapted for retaining a bicycle tire therebetween, and an annular spoke mounting wall. Each of the tire retaining walls has an inner edge proximate to a central point of the wheel rim, and an outer edge distal to the central point of the wheel rim. The spoke mounting wall interconnects the inner edges of the tire retaining walls, and has a central bridging portion with left and right terminating edges, a left corner block which interconnects the inner edge of the left tire retaining wall and the left terminating edge of the bridging portion and which is formed with a set of left spoke fastening holes, and a right corner block which interconnects the inner edge of the right tire retaining wall and the right terminating edge of the bridging portion and which is formed with a set of right spoke fastening holes that are staggered with respect to the left spoke fastening holes.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim includes a rim body having an annular spoke-mounting wall and spaced left and right annular tire-retaining walls, and a pair of wear-resisting rings. The spoke-mounting wall has two annular lateral peripheral edges. The left and right annular tire-retaining walls extend integrally, radially, outwardly and respectively from the lateral peripheral edges of the spoke-mounting wall. Each of the tire-retaining walls has an inner surface that faces the other one of the tire-retaining walls to confine a tire receiving space therewith, an outer brake pad contacting surface opposite to the inner surface, and an annular end face distal to the spoke-mounting wall. Each of the tire-retaining walls further has a tire retaining projection, formed at a corner of the end face and the inner surface for engaging a bicycle tire so as to retain the bicycle tire between the tire-retaining walls. The wear-resisting rings are made of a resilient material. Each of the wear-resisting rings extends along the end face of a respective one of the tire-retaining walls, and projects radially and outwardly relative to the end face of the respective one of the tire-retaining walls to prevent the end face from contacting directly the bicycle tire to minimize wearing of the bicycle tire.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim includes an annular rim body having spaced left and right annular tire retaining walls adapted for retaining a bicycle tire therebetween, and an annular connecting wall interconnecting the tire retaining walls and cooperating with the tire retaining walls so as to confine a tire receiving space thereamong. A spoke mounting seat extends from the rim body and is disposed outwardly of the tire receiving space. The spoke mounting seat is formed with a plurality of spoke fastening holes therethrough for mounting of the spokes thereon.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel rim adapted for mounting a plurality of spokes thereon includes spaced left and right tire retaining walls, an annular spoke mounting wall, an annular connecting wall, and left and right reinforcing walls. The spoke mounting wall interconnects inner edges of the tire retaining walls, and has a central spoke fastening portion formed with spoke fastening holes. The connecting wall is disposed around the spoke mounting wall, and interconnects intermediate portions of the tire retaining walls. The left reinforcing wall has a first end connected to a left terminating edge of the connecting wall and the intermediate portion of the left tire retaining wall, and a second end connected to the central spoke fastening portion of the spoke mounting wall. The left reinforcing wall is inclined with respect to the left tire retaining wall. The right reinforcing wall has a first end connected to a right terminating edge of the connecting wall and the intermediate portion of the right tire retaining wall, and a second end connected to the central spoke fastening portion of the spoke mounting wall. The right reinforcing wall is inclined with respect to the right tire retaining wall.
Abstract:
A vacuum coating apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cathode target, a plurality of anodes, a transiting device, a pulsed arc discharge device, and a pulsed laser device. The plurality of anodes is placed on the transiting device and successively passes though a working position by the transiting device. The pulsed arc discharge device is electrically connected to the cathode target and the anode at the operable position to form plasma in a vacuum chamber for film coating. The pulsed laser device is located outside of the vacuum chamber and provides a pulsed laser beam onto the surface of the cathode surface to serve as a plasma trigger. A coating method for the vacuum coating apparatus is also disclosed.
