摘要: A parking mechanism for use in a vehicle and method of operation thereof. The parking mechanism includes one or more actuation mechanisms, a parking pawl and a parking gear. At least a portion of the one or more actuation mechanisms are drivingly connected to at least a portion of a cam. The parking pawl has one or more parking pawl teeth extending therefrom that are selectively engagable with at least a portion of one or more parking gear teeth extending from an outer surface of a body portion of the parking gear. The parking pawl also includes a parking pawl pin aperture having a size and shape needed to receive and/or retain at least a portion of a parking pawl pin therein.

摘要: An axle assembly having an axle housing with a center portion defining a sump and one or more axle shaft housings extending from the center portion. Each of the axle shaft housings receives an axle half shaft. The axle housing includes a differential assembly having a ring gear; and a lubrication directing assembly disposed directly adjacent to the ring gear. The axle assembly also includes a pump mounted in one or more of the axle shaft housings and is drivingly coupled to a pump gear. The pump gear is drivingly coupled to the axle half shaft. The axle assembly also includes an axle housing cover surrounding the axle housing. A fluid storage tank is attached to the housing cover, wherein the fluid storage tank includes a fill channel directly attached to the housing cover.

摘要: An electric motor cooling jacket enclosing a surface of an electric motor stator and having protuberances adapted for contact with the surface of the stator, with fluid passageways formed by the cooling jacket body, the protuberances, and the surface of the electric motor stator, wherein the fluid passageways are arranged to permit a cooling fluid to flow in a serpentine path across the surface of the stator to remove heat from the stator. Spray rings are fluidly coupled with the fluid passageways so as to permit the cooling fluid to flow into the fluid passageways, across the outer circumference of the electric motor stator, and out from orifices in the spray rings to cool the windings of the stator. The protuberances are formable using a pair of mold halves aligned anti-symmetrically with one another so that a serpentine fluid path is formed when casting the cooling jacket body.

摘要: A method of decreasing tire pressure includes opening a wheel valve (22) to allow pressurized air from a tire (10) to be directed to a first valve assembly (14) and to atmosphere. A target pressure is selected for a fluid control conduit (28). The fluid conduit (28) is in fluid communication with the first valve assembly (14) and a second or control valve assembly (30). The pressure in the fluid conduit (28) is measured. If the measured pressure is greater than the target pressure, then the second valve assembly (30) is de-energized. If the measured pressure is less than the target pressure, then the second valve assembly (30) is energized. A valve (42) prone to leak under very low temperatures may be subjected to repeated cycles of pressure application and pressure release in order to form a fluid-tight seal.

摘要: A method of determining tire pressure includes providing a control unit having a first pressure transducer. The control unit is in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir via an air supply circuit. A second pressure transducer is disposed at least partially within the fluid reservoir. The method also includes measuring a pressure of air in the air supply circuit utilizing the first pressure transducer and measuring a pressure of air in the reservoir utilizing the second pressure transducer. The method additionally includes determining a difference in the measurements of the first pressure transducer and the second pressure transducer and calibrating the second pressure transducer pressure measurement to agree with the first pressure transducer pressure measurement where the pressure difference is less than a predetermined value. The method further includes measuring a pressure in one or more tires.

摘要: An electric axle assembly having dual motors and dual disconnects allowing for selectably disconnecting either one of the motors so that either motor may operate as the primary drive motor. Each of the dual motors is coupled to a layshaft, and each disconnect is positioned between a gear reduction at the output of the motor and a gear reduction connected to the layshaft. The layshaft is coupled to a differential via a clutch and gear set, the gear set providing a two-speed transmission for power delivered from the layshaft to the differential.

摘要: A mechanical device lubrication level control system operates within a mechanical housing having a sump cavity and a lubricant director, where the lubricant director is located at the bottom of the housing. A mechanical gear set is located in the sump cavity and a lube tank is located in the lubricant director. There is located within in lube tank either a motor with a pump or an expandable air bladder that is inflatable by an air source. For the lube tank having the motor with the pump, the pump controls the lubricant within the sump cavity. For the lube tank having the expandable air bladder, the air source controls the lubricant within the sump cavity.
