Abstract:
An approach for establishing a communication session according to a subscriber profile that is automatically updated is disclosed. A locator device, which is associated with a subscriber and includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) transponder, outputs geographic information that is transmitted to a communications network for establishing the communication session. The geographic information corresponds to one of a plurality of addresses specified in the subscriber profile to set a current address. The addresses are associated with a plurality of devices adapted to complete the communication session. The one address is designated as the current address if the geographic information corresponds to the one address, otherwise the current address is set to a default address, wherein the communication session is established based on the current address.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided in which a digital image is transmitted to a presentation projector resource over a wireless transmission medium using a reduced amount of bandwidth by transmitting a subset of the digital image data. The subset of image data may be a delta subset that represents those areas of the image that have changed since the previous transmission. The subset image data may also be a scalable vector graphics representation of the subset of the digital image. A projector discovery logic selects a suitable projector resource based on the order or signal strength of the discovery replies. A wireless image transmission session is established with the selected projector resource during which the projector is unavailable to other devices. The subset image data may be compressed and transmission coordinated with the projector resource so that the data is sent only when it is ready to be received.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are operable to process production information related metadata content. An exemplary embodiment receives a user specification identifying at least one production information search parameter, searches production information metadata content associated with a media content event for instances of the user specified at least one production information search parameter, and generates a production information report configured to present information pertaining to the identified instances of the user specified at least one production information search parameter.
Abstract:
A touch-screen device includes a radiation source, a waveguide configured to receive radiation emitted by the source and to cause some of the radiation to undergo total internal reflection within the waveguide, a pliable frustrating layer disposed relative to the waveguide to enable the frustrating layer to contact the waveguide when the frustrating layer is physically deformed, the frustrating layer being configured to cause frustration of the total internal reflection of the received radiation within the waveguide when the frustrating layer is physically deformed to contact the waveguide such that some of the received escapes from the waveguide at the contact point, an imaging sensor configured to detect some of the radiation that escapes from the waveguide, and a structure disposed relative to the frustrating layer, the structure configured to steer at least a portion of the radiation that escapes from the waveguide toward the imaging sensor.
Abstract:
A projection system including at least a laser light source, an image generator, a projection lens assembly, and a despeckling device. The image image generator modulates laser light from the laser light source to form a projection image. The projection lens assembly is positioned downstream of the image generator and projects the projection image. The despeckling device limits laser speckle of the projected projection image.
Abstract:
A method for removing ion implanted photoresist from a surface of a substrate is provided. The method may include introducing a gas to a reaction chamber containing the substrate; illuminating the ion implanted photoresist with radiation from a laser in the presence of the gas; and scanning the radiation across the surface in the presence of the gas to photoreactively remove the ion implanted photoresist from the surface.
Abstract:
The invention provides a drying device for use in drying carpets, rugs after flooding or cleaning by a wet process. In addition, the drying device may be utilised for drying the fabric of dwelling, viz, the floors, walls, ceilings and under floor cavities after flooding. To these ends, the drying device, in one format is made up of opposed sheets (4, 6) of flexible material, e.g. plastic sheeting, co joined along peripheral edge portions (8, 10, 12, 14), one, or both, sheets being provided with a multiplicity of small apertures (24) over the whole, or substantially the whole area thereof The sheets (4, 6) are joined internally by apertured webs (18) extending along the drying device to form channels (20) between the sheets. Provision is made along the peripheral edge portions (8, 10, 12, 14) of the sheets (4, 6) to attach at least one air blower (26) and to attach further drying devices (2a, 2b) using a connector means (30, 38). The air blower(s) (26) may supply drying air at ambient temperature, or heated to approx. 85°, depending upon the drying requirements.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an anhydrous topical antiperspirant composition comprising a dermatologically acceptable carrier and a perspiration reducing effective amount of a particulate antiperspirant salt suspended in the carrier. In addition, the composition includes behenoxy dimethicone and a non-polar, non-volatile liquid emollient oil. Such a composition provides improved skin feel (i.e. softer skin), good moisturization and softer, less noticeable hair (or hair stubble). Also disclosed is a method of reducing perspiration from human skin by applying the aforementioned antiperspirant composition.
Abstract:
Airfoils and grooves on the rotor or carrier for the airfoils have generally complementary dovetail shapes. The airfoils are installed in the grooves by sliding the bases of the airfoils along the circumferential grooves into final circumferential positions. At each circumferential position, a pin is driven between the base of the airfoil and the bottom of the groove to displace the airfoil radially into a final radially secured position taking up the clearance necessary to enable sliding movement of the airfoils about the groove. A first tool is used to drive each pin in a generally tangential direction by hammering on the end of the tool, transmitting an axial force to the pin. When the circumferential clearance of the last installed airfoil is insufficient to permit further use of a tangentially oriented tool to install additional airfoils, a second tool having an angled head is disposed into the groove to engage the pin. By hammering on the second tool, a component of the applied force drives the pins between the airfoil bases and the bottom of the groove to finally secure the remaining airfoils in a fixed radial position.
