Abstract: A valve plug adapted for sealing engagement with a seat ring. The valve plug includes a cylindrical body with an annular flange having a groove. A pair of bores is disposed in the body, each bore having a first diameter, a first end, and a second end disposed within the body. Each bore is also adapted to receive a fastener to couple the valve plug to a mounting portion, and a recess is disposed at the second end of the bore, forming a stepped portion. The recess is adapted to receive at least one of a portion of a retainer or a portion of the fastener. A sealing disk is disposed within the groove of the annular flange and is one of a machined sealing disk or a molded sealing disk.

Abstract: Multidirectional vent limiting devices for use with fluid regulators are described. An example vent limiting device includes a housing having an interior surface, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a first fluid passageway in fluid communication with and located between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The interior surface includes a first sealing surface that defines a portion of the first fluid passageway. The vent limiting device further includes a stem having a first end, a second end located opposite the first end, and an axial portion located between the first end and the second end. The vent limiting device further includes a poppet having a first end, a second end located opposite the first end, a second sealing surface that defines a portion of the first fluid passageway, and a bore that defines a second fluid passageway in fluid communication with and located between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The first end of the stem is rigidly coupled to the poppet. The poppet is slidable in an axial direction within the housing between an open position and a closed position. The second sealing surface contacts the first sealing surface when the poppet is in the closed position to close off the first fluid passageway.

Abstract: A fluid regulating device includes a valve having an inlet and an outlet and an actuator coupled to the valve and having a control assembly. The control assembly includes a control element and a diaphragm operably connected to the control element, the control element disposed within the valve and adapted to be displaced relative to a valve seat. A noise attenuation assembly is coupled to the outlet of the valve and includes a cylindrical body and at least one plate disposed in the cylindrical body, the at least one plate having an outer edge. An apparatus for retaining the noise attenuation assembly includes a plurality of rods coupled to the at least one plate. The plurality of rods includes at least one rod having a first end disposed through the outer edge of the at least one plate to support the noise attenuation assembly.

Abstract: A pressure regulating device including a valve body, an actuator assembly coupled to the valve body and including a diaphragm, a valve seat disposed in the valve body, a control assembly operatively connected to the diaphragm to move responsive to movement of the diaphragm, and a travel stop. The control assembly includes a control element that is movable, relative to the valve seat, between an open position, wherein the control element is spaced from the valve seat, and a closed position, wherein the control element sealingly engages the valve seat. The travel stop is configured to engage the control element to stop movement of the control element upon reaching the open position. The travel stop is adjustable to change the open position of the control element, such that a wide open flow capacity of the pressure regulating device can be adjusted.

Abstract: An assembly for reducing excess piping pressure in a fluid distribution system. The assembly includes a fluid regulator including a body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid passageway between the inlet and the outlet, a first control element movable relative to a valve seat in the fluid passageway to control fluid flow therethrough, a valve stem coupled to the first control element, and an actuator assembly operatively coupled to the valve stem to control a position of the first control element. The assembly also includes a solenoid valve coupled to the fluid regulator at a position upstream of the outlet, the solenoid valve adapted to receive a control signal indicative of zero demand downstream of the fluid regulator, and having a second control element that is movable, responsive to the control signal, from a first position to a second position to reduce fluid flowing through the fluid passageway.

Abstract: An internal valve includes a valve stem disposed in a valve body, a poppet valve coupled to the stem, and a bleed valve coupled to the stem. The valve stem is shiftable from a first position in which the poppet valve and the bleed valve are closed, to a second position in which the bleed valve is open, and a third position in which the bleed valve is closed and the poppet valve is open, and the poppet may shift closed in response to a pressure change. A valve body of the internal valve includes primary and secondary stem guides supported by respective primary and secondary stem struts connected to an inner side of the valve body. The valve body further includes thickened portions extending inwardly toward an axis of the valve body to which the secondary stem struts connect.
