Abstract:
A fan assembly for creating an air current is described, the fan assembly having a nozzle, a system for creating an air flow through the nozzle and a filter for removing particulates from the air flow, the nozzle having an interior passage, a mouth for receiving the air flow from the interior passage, and a Coanda surface located adjacent the mouth and over which the mouth is arranged to direct the air flow, wherein the fan provides an arrangement producing an air current and a flow of cooling air created without requiring a bladed fan, i.e. air flow is created by a bladeless fan.
Abstract:
A multi-standard single-chip receiver for digital demodulation of TV signals broadcasted over any of multiple digital television means, e.g., satellite, cable and terrestrial, is provided. The receiver can receive and demodulate a variety of different signal types received from one or more up-front tuners. A demodulator architecture in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention can be optimized to re-use common demodulation processing blocks for the different incoming signal types.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an interactive gymnastics practice device which is used together with an image and sound system forming the gymnastics program to be followed by a user, comprising a first level of generally-pressure-sensitive surfaces, the surfaces extending essentially in a continuous manner and in substantially the same plane. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises at least one second level of surfaces which are pressure sensitive or which can control an action in response to a pressure, the second level surfaces extending essentially in a continuous manner and in substantially the same plane.
Abstract:
A bladeless fan assembly (100) for creating an air current comprises a nozzle (1) mounted on a base (16) housing for creating an air flow through the nozzle (1). The nozzle (1) comprises an interior passage (10) for receiving the air flow from the base (16) and a mouth (12) through which the air flow is emitted. The nozzle (1) extends about an axis to define an opening (2) through which air from outside the fan assembly (100) is drawn by the air flow emitted from the mouth (12). The nozzle (1) comprises a surface over which the mouth (12) is arranged to direct the air flow. The surface comprises a diffuser portion (46) tapering away from the axis, and a guide portion (48) downstream from the diffuser portion (46) and angled thereto.

Abstract:
A drying apparatus has a casing, a cavity formed in the casing for receiving an object, a fan located in the casing and creating an airflow, and at least one slot-like opening communicating with the fan and arranged in the casing so as to direct an airflow transversely across the cavity. The slot-like opening has a maximum width which is no greater than 0.8 mm. This produces a very narrow, high velocity, high pressure airflow which is capable of drying an object efficiently and quickly and is suitable for use in a hand dryer.
Abstract:
A drying apparatus having a casing, a cavity formed in the casing for receiving an object, a fan located in the casing and creating an airflow, and at least one slot-like opening communicating with the fan and arranged in the casing to direct an airflow transversely across the cavity. The slot-like opening is formed between opposing walls which approach one another at an angle of between 10° and 20°. In another aspect, two slot-like openings are provided ducting providing communication between the fan and the slot-like openings has a first cross-section in the vicinity of the fan whose dimensions are similar in all directions and a slot-like cross-section in the vicinity of the openings, the transition between the said cross-sections being gradual and smooth.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for interactive football practice combined with an imaging and sound system constituting the football programme to be followed by a player, comprising an object relatively fixed to the ground (I), of spherical shape which the player can kick, and various means for determining the types of kicks practised by the player and the intensity thereof.
Abstract:
The invention aims at providing a video game input device for use with a standard video game equipment capable of displaying varying representations of a human body, said device comprising an apparatus for transforming movements of a user into sense signals and a processing unit for converting the sense signals into standard control signals for said standard video game equipment, said processing unit comprising an adjusting unit allowing the user to configure the conversion of said sense signals into said control signals. The input device preferably comprises a wireless communication module. Further, the apparatus comprises ergonomics and efficient elbow and leg sensors.
