    摘要: A fluid pump inlet stabilizer dampener includes a deformable diaphragm separating an enclosure into a gas chamber and a liquid chamber; and a piston coupled to the deformable diaphragm and being movable with respect to a valve housing, wherein the piston is configured to be positioned in at least first, second, and third positions, wherein in the first position a first fluid flow path from a pressurized gas inlet port to the gas chamber is open, in the second position the first fluid flow path is closed, and in the third position the first fluid flow path is closed and a second fluid flow path that activates a venturi vacuum generator is open.

    摘要: A fuel system includes a fuel reservoir configured to be located within the fuel tank such that the fuel reservoir defines a fuel reservoir volume which is a subset of a fuel tank volume; a fuel pump configured to pump fuel from within the fuel reservoir volume to the fuel consuming device through a fuel supply line; a jet pump configured to 1) receive excess fuel, through a fuel return line, which had been supplied to the fuel consuming device through the fuel supply line and 2) aspirate fuel into the fuel reservoir volume from the fuel tank volume; and a valve which allows fuel flow in both directions between the fuel return line and the jet pump when a differential pressure across the valve is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold.

    摘要: A vehicle includes a fuel tank, a jet pump and a controller. The fuel tank has a passive side and an active side. Each of the sides includes a fuel level indicator. The jet pump is disposed within the active side and is configured to maintain a fuel level above a first threshold, based on each of the indicators, on the active side by siphoning fuel from the passive side during operation in a combustion mode. The controller is configured to, in response a battery charge level being below a second threshold during operation in an electric mode and a detected hill climb via a route guidance system, activate the jet pump to siphon fuel such that a fuel level within the active side rises above the first threshold.

    摘要: A fluid delivery apparatus includes controller hardware, a diaphragm pump, a positive displacement pump, and a fluid conduit extending between the diaphragm pump and the positive displacement pump. During operation, and delivering fluid to a downstream recipient, the controller hardware draws fluid into a chamber of the diaphragm pump from a fluid source container. The controller hardware applies pressure to the chamber of the diaphragm pump to output the fluid in the chamber of the diaphragm pump downstream through the fluid conduit to the positive displacement pump. During application of the pressure to the chamber and outputting the fluid in the chamber of the diaphragm pump downstream, the controller hardware activates the positive displacement pump to pump the fluid from the positive displacement pump to the downstream recipient.

    摘要: A multi-phase pump system and method that directs incoming two-phase flow into a fixed cylinder that contains a vortical flow. The system includes a momentum-driven, vortex phase separator, the phase separator accepting liquid-gas flows at any ratio from all liquid to all gas. The pump system also includes a liquid prime mover; a gas prime mover; and a control system. The vortical flow is driven by injecting the two-phase or another fluid stream tangent or approximately tangent to the curved surface of the cylindrical chamber. Inertial forces generated within the vortical flow drive a buoyancy-driven separation process within the cylindrical chamber. Single-phase prime movers are then used to pump the separated phases to a higher pressure.
