    摘要: Provided is a plasma display panel (PDP) having a structure that prevents a frit from penetrating into a display area during a process of sealing the PDP. The PDP includes: a pair of substrates spaced apart from each other and facing each other; a sheet interposed between the pair of substrates and comprising a barrier rib part, defining discharge cells, and a dielectric part disposed on edges of the barrier rib part; first discharge electrodes disposed in the sheet; second discharge electrodes disposed in the sheet and spaced apart from the first discharge electrodes; a frit disposed between the pair of substrates and the dielectric part and sealing the pair of substrates; a groove formed on at least one of the pair of substrates and where at least a part of the frit is disposed; phosphor layers arranged in the discharge cells; and a discharge gas sealed in the discharge cells.

The PDP includes: a substrate through which visible rays displaying an image are transmitted; a plurality of electrode buried walls arranged below the substrate and defining discharge cells; a plurality of pairs of discharge electrodes spaced apart from each other in the electrode buried walls and performing a discharge in the discharge cells; a sealing member arranged below the electrode buried walls, sealing a discharge gas together with the substrate, and formed of a material having a higher thermal conductivity than that of the substrate; and phosphor layers arranged in the discharge cells.

    摘要: A discharge display apparatus having a discharge display panel and a driving device that drives the discharge display panel is disclosed. The discharge display panel includes a partition-wall plate, address electrodes, common electrodes, and scan electrodes. The partition-wall plate has through-cells and is disposed between first and second substrates. The address electrodes, the common electrodes, and the scan electrodes are all ring-shaped electrodes which surround the through-cells and are disposed in the partition-wall plate. The driving device divides a single frame into a plurality of subfields and performs addressing and sustaining operations in a single subfield. The addressing operation is performed by driving the address electrodes and the scan electrodes, and the sustaining operation is performed by driving the common electrodes and the scan electrodes.

    摘要: Provided is a plasma display panel and a method of manufacturing the same. The method of manufacturing the plasma display panel includes preparing a front substrate and a rear substrate and arranging the front and rear substrates to face each other; forming an exhaust hole in a discharge sheet; disposing the discharge sheet between the front and rear substrates; sealing a space between the front and rear substrates by coating a sealing member along edge surfaces of the front and rear substrates; and vacuuming the space between the front and rear substrates through an exhaust pipe formed on an outer surface of one of the front and rear substrates and connected to the exhaust pipe. The exhaust hole formed between the substrates has greater diameter than the discharge cells defined by the dielectric walls. Therefore, an inner region of the front substrate and an inner region of the rear substrate are subjected to substantially the same force.

    摘要: A method of selectively performing a reset discharge in a plasma display panel (PDP) and a plasma display device driven by the method are disclosed. In one embodiment, a display image is represented by a plurality of unit frames, and each unit frame is divided into a plurality of sub-fields, and each of the sub-fields includes, in order, a reset period when all discharge cells are initialized, an address period when a discharge cell that is turned on or off is selected from all discharge cells, and a sustain period when a sustain discharge is performed for a discharge cell selected to be turned on in the address period. Furthermore, a reset discharge is performed to initialize all discharge cells in the reset period of the first sub-field of the unit frame, and to initialize only discharge cells, in which a sustain discharge has been previously performed in the sustain periods, in the reset periods of the sub-fields after the second sub-field.
