Abstract:
A chip mountable on a customer replaceable unit monitoring memory (CRUM) unit used in an image forming job includes a central processing unit (CPU) with its own operating system (OS), which operates separately from an OS of the image forming apparatus, to perform authentication communication with a main body of the image forming apparatus using the OS of the CPU. The security of a unit on which the chip is mounted can thereby be reinforced and random changes of data of the unit can be prevented.

An electronic image device and driving method thereof allows a user to control a 3D image and eliminates a process for dividing an input image that is 3D image data into a left-eye image and a right-eye image. 3D image data signals may be generated directly from a 3D image signal or from a time divided 2D image signal.
Abstract:
An organic light emitting display capable of reducing power consumption and controlling brightness in response to the intensities of peripheral light. The organic light emitting display includes a data driver for supplying data signals to data lines, a scan driver for sequentially supplying scan signals to scan lines and sequentially supplying emission control signals to emission control lines, a display region including a plurality of pixels for receiving the data signals, the scan signals and the emission control signals to display images and a brightness controller for controlling the brightness of the display region. The brightness controller controls the brightness of the display region in response to the data of one frame and the intensities of peripheral light. This system reduces power consumption, controls the brightness of the display region in response to the intensities of the peripheral light and improves the contrast of the display region.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and an apparatus for compression transmission of bus data including a plurality of bytes including upper bits and lower bits. The apparatus includes a comparator and an aligner. The comparator compares upper bits of a previous byte with upper bits of a current byte among the plurality of bytes. If the upper bits of the previous byte are identical to the upper bits of the current byte, the aligner compresses the bus data in a combination of a full-byte and a half-byte, by allowing the previous byte to be constituted with the full-byte having bits corresponding to the number of bits of the previous byte and allowing the current byte to be constituted with the half-byte excluding the upper bits of the current byte. Then, the aligner arrays the compressed bus data in a preset bus bandwidth to transmit to a slave device.
Abstract:
An organic light emitting display (OLED) device having an automatic brightness control apparatus that can control the luminance of the OLED device according to the brightness of ambient light. The OLED device includes a light sensor adapted to sense ambient light and produce an output voltage corresponding to the ambient light. The automatic brightness control apparatus is adapted to adjust a gamma value to the output voltage and output a gamma reference voltage. The automatic brightness control apparatus is adapted to sense a change in the ambient light by synchronizing the output voltage of the light sensor with a vertical synchronization (Vsync) signal. Accordingly, the gamma value varies with the brightness of the ambient light so that the luminance of the OLED device is controlled according to the brightness of the ambient light.
Abstract:
A hybrid disk drive is utilized to achieve speed optimization and minimization of power consumption by installing a flash memory device in the hybrid disk drive and efficiently controlling data flow between the flash memory device and the disk drive. The hybrid disk drive includes a volatile memory unit, a nonvolatile memory unit, a disk unit, a host interface and a buffer controller disposed between the volatile memory unit, the nonvolatile memory unit, the host interface and the disk unit. The disk unit stores data by magnetizing the surface of the disk. The host interface receives a read data command from the host and transmits the data stored in the volatile memory unit to the host. The buffer controller is configured to read the data from the nonvolatile memory unit if the data is not stored in the volatile memory unit when the read data command is received from the host interface. The buffer controller also controls the storing of the read data in the volatile memory unit if the data is stored in the nonvolatile memory unit. Alternatively, if the data is not stored in the nonvolatile memory unit, the controller reads the data from the disk unit and stories it in the volatile memory unit.

The security of a unit on which the chip is mounted can thereby be reinforced and random changes of data of the unit can be prevented.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including: a reflection member to reflect light at a first position spaced a predetermined distance from a scan glass; a moving unit to move the reflection member between the first position and a second position; and a control unit to generate initial reference data from an image signal transmitted from a scanning device to receive the light reflected by the reflection member. When the initial reference data is not suitable for shading correction, the control unit controls the moving unit to move the reflection member to the second position for reference data reacquisition.
