    摘要： A system for authorizing services in wireless devices based on a type of service requested and a location of the wireless device. For example, in a wireless telephony system, when a session is set up via an Internet Protocol-based system, an application server queries a location service for the location of the handset requesting the service. If the handset or the receiving handset is in a location that is not authorized for the requested service based on the position of the handset, the connection is not enabled. A message may be transmitted to the sending handset to inform a user that the service is not authorized for the location.

The memory component may store medic alert information. The processing component may generate an electronic message containing the medic alert information and send the electronic message via a communications network. The device may also have an input component for receiving a user request to initiate a connection with an emergency contact, such as a 911 dispatcher. The electronic message may be automatically generated and sent in response to the user request.

    摘要： The present invention is a method and system for changing the presence of a user profile logged into a communication device on a communications network relative to the active call mode of the communication device. In the first embodiment, the communication device first receives an indication that an event involving the communication device has triggered active call mode. The communication device next determines the new presence corresponding to the event triggering active call mode, and communicates the new presence to the communications network. In the second embodiment, the communication device is coupled to a client device. The client device receives an indication that an event involving the communication device has triggered active call mode and determines the new presence for the user profile corresponding to the event. The new presence for the user profile logged into the communication device is then communicated to the communications network.
