    Abstract: A data processing system and method manage the storage of instructions used in applications developed using an interpretive programming language, such as Java, REXX, BASIC, and the like, when those instructions are compiled into byte-codes to be used by a virtual machine stored in a “heap.” In the data processing system and method, an exception is registered in a page manager of an operating system to identify that compiled code should be stored within the heap of the virtual machine.
