Abstract: A ventilation system having a blower, a light and an auxiliary device configured to perform a function in the room other than ventilation and lighting. A control module is operatively connected to the ventilation fan and has a light switch to activate the light and a blower switch to activate the blower. A communication system including an antenna receives wireless signals and a processor operates the light switch and the blower switch based on the wireless signals. A wall switch has a plurality of device operators to provide one or more inputs to the control module.

Abstract: A system to control indoor air quality (IAQ) at zones of an area of interest (AOI) is disclosed. The system comprises one or more HVAC devices configured with one or more zones of the AOI, one or more electronic locks configured with a door of the one or more zones, and one or more IAQ sensing devices provided at the one or more zones, wherein the one or more sensing devices are configured to communicatively couple with the one or more electronic locks, and the one or more HVAC devices, and wherein each of the electronic locks is configured to track position and motion of the sensing device that is assigned to the zone where the corresponding electronic lock is installed; and generate an alert signal when the sensing device assigned to any of the one or more zones is detected to be out of the corresponding zone.

Abstract: An IAQ sensor module includes: a sensor configured to measure an amount of an item in air, the item being one of particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, and carbon dioxide; a minimum module configured to selectively store the amount of the item as a minimum value of the amount when a mitigation device has been on for at least a predetermined period, the mitigation device being configured to decrease the amount of the item in the air when on; a storing module configured to selectively store the minimum value as an initial minimum value; an offset module configured to determine a drift offset for the sensor based on a difference between the minimum value and the initial minimum value; and an adjustment module configured to determine an adjusted amount of the item in the air at the IAQ sensor module based on the amount and the drift offset.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for advanced monitoring of an HVAC system. In some implementations, a voltage measurement across at least two interface terminals of a thermostat that controls an HVAC system of a property is obtained. The voltage measurements are analyzed. A likely power cycling activity of a component of the HVAC system is determined based on analyzing the voltage measurements. Whether the HVAC system is operating properly is determined based on the likely power cycling activity of the component of the HVAC system. Data indicating whether the HVAC system is operating properly is generated and outputted based on determining whether the HVAC system is operating properly.

Abstract: There are disclosed systems and methods for managing object configurations within a structure. For one embodiment, a fixed object profile including dimensions and locations of ventilation of a building space and a non-fixed object profile including dimensions and a location of a non-fixed object are identified. One or more contaminant risk locations of the building space are determined in response to determining the air flow within the building space associated with an HVAC unit. The air flow is determined based on incoming air flow streams to the building space and outgoing air flow streams away from the building space. One or more object positions are provided at an output device based on the contaminant risk location(s). For another embodiment, the contaminant risk location(s) are selected from possible people locations. A person position is displayed at an output device, in proximity to the building space, based on the contaminant risk location(s).

A network interface communicates the first air quality signal, the second air quality signal or the pressure signal, or warning signals corresponding thereto and the position signal to a network.
