Abstract:
A cruise control system includes an input device that generates an operator input signal. A control module generates a cruise control command signal to maintain a vehicle speed at a set target speed. The control module operates in a normal mode that is associated with decreasing the set target speed, based on the operator input signal, when the vehicle speed is within a window about the set target speed. The control module overrides the normal mode and enables reset of the set target speed to a current vehicle speed, which is based on the operator input signal, when the vehicle operator input signal is greater than the cruise control command signal.
Abstract:
This invention relates to assays for detecting native-state proteins and to screening methods to identify compounds that modulate the stability of the native-state of proteins. Compounds identified by such screens can be used to treat diseases associated with protein misfolding, such as Alzheimer's Disease, familial amyloidotic polyneuropathies, and lysosomal storage diseases.
Abstract:
A computer system having an Advance Configuration and Power Interface-compliant, or ACPI, operating system performs certain machine specific tasks before going to a low power state. When the computer operating system indicates that entry into the low power state is desired, a microcontroller embedded in an input/output chip is alerted. Synchronization between the main processor of the computer system and the embedded microcontroller of the ACPI operating system is achieved, reducing the likelihood of system failure on the next boot operation. The embedded microcontroller then also causes the state of devices connected to the input/output chip to be saved. This helps the machine to go to a known state during the resume process.
Abstract:
The invention provides a new formulation of the composition comprising Flos Lonicerae Fructus Forsythiae and Radix Scutellariae. This invention also provides a method for identification with HPLC and the characteristic peaks of the compositions of said composition. The composition possesses antiviral effective, namely, inhibition of influenza virus, parainfluenza virus, herpes I virus and herpes II virus. The invention refers to a method for preparation and control of the active components of Flos Lonicerae Fructus Forsythiae and Radix Scutellariae for its biological activity. The invention also provides a unique raw materials and intermediate formulation.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for allowing surprise insertion and removal of a peripheral device from the bays of a portable computer system. The peripheral device may be inserted or removed when the portable computer system is powered off, powered on, or in standby or sleep mode. The peripheral device may be any one of a multitude of devices corresponding to the IDE, ATAPI or FLOPPY standard. Insertion or removal of the device is operating system and BIOS independent. A constantly executing detection process determines when a peripheral device has been inserted into or removed from a bay. A multilevel device driver allows layered functionality and simplified interfacing between the operating system and computer system and peripheral hardware. Layering of the multilevel device driver allows simplified BIOS firmware. Identification and configuration of the peripheral device is handled by a IDE/ATAPI bridge device driver that is capable of recognizing any IDE, ATAPI or FLOPPY device inserted into a bay. The bridge device driver also updates CMOS registers, executes a type specific driver and device specific driver for the particular device and informs the operating system and file system.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a microphone speaker showing my new design; FIG. 2 is a front elevation view thereof; FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view thereof; FIG. 4 is a left side elevation view thereof; FIG. 5 is a right side elevation view thereof; FIG. 6 is a top plan view thereof; and, FIG. 7 is a bottom plan view thereof. The broken lines depict portions of the microphone speaker that form no part of the claimed design.
Abstract:
A decentralized public key management system for named data networks based on blockchain, which solves the Compromised Certificate Authority (CA) Problem. The system divides the power of an individual CA among multiple Public Key Miners (PKMiners) that maintain the public key blockchains. The majority rule in name-principal validation allows the present invention to tolerate compromised PKMiners without causing any damage.
Abstract:
A Forwarding Information Base (FIB) caching system and scheme that selects and generates a minimal number of non-overlapping prefixes for the FIB cache to improve computer-based network communications and operations efficiency, accuracy and speed. Because the cached prefixes do not cover any longer prefixes in the full FIB, the present invention thus avoids cache-hiding issues. The system further comprises a FIB caching updating component that systematically handles cache misses, cache replacement, and routing updates.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a multi-compartment medical device for segregated storage and on demand mixing of at least two components and expression of a resulting mixture from the device having a tubular barrel with an opening and a gasket sealing the rear end through which a plunger is axially slidable within the tubular barrel. At least one bypass is provided in the barrel in order to enable fluid movement of the components between front and rear compartments and rear compartments. The present invention is also directed to methods for the use of such devices.
