Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced multi-link single-radio (EMLSR). A device may utilize multiple links in a time-shared manner. The device may assign one of the multiple links as a primary link for legacy STAs. The device may assign remaining links as non-primary links. The device may initiate a transmit opportunity (TXOP) on a non-primary link when the primary link is occupied. The device may transmit a control frame from a non-primary link in response to an initial control frame when the primary link is idle, wherein the control frame indicates discontinuation of frame exchange on the non-primary link.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for activation and deactivation of links in a multilink device (MLD) where an apparatus of an access point (AP) MLD comprises processing circuitry configured to: encode, for transmission to a non-AP MLD, an advertisement traffic-identification (TID)-to-link mapping, the advertisement TID-to-link mapping indicating a first AP affiliated with the AP MLD is disabled, the first AP associated with a first link of the AP MLD, and decode, from the non-AP MLD, on a second link of the AP MLD, a request to enable the first AP, the second link associated with a second AP. The processing circuitry is further configured to encode, for transmission to the non-AP MLD, a response to the request to enable the first AP. An apparatus of a non-AP MLD is similarly configured.

A device may enable utilization of a secondary channel within a Wi-Fi network when a primary channel is engaged. The device may monitor a status of the primary channel while it is busy. The device may assess a presence of energy in the primary channel using Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) during a receiving mode. The device may provide the status of the primary channel via a block acknowledgment during frame exchanges on the secondary channel when the primary channel is determined to be idle. The device may instruct a switch back to the primary channel through a broadcast frame or a unicast frame.

Additionally, a non-AP MLD includes processing circuitry configured to: refrain from transmitting a second individually addressed management frame over a setup link while a third individually addressed management frame is being transmitted by a station (STA) affiliated with the non-AP MLD or the third individually addressed management frame has not successfully completed, failed due to a retry limit, or was discarded by a media access control (MAC) layer.

Abstract: For example, an apparatus may be configured to cause an Access Point (AP) to transmit a frame over a wireless communication channel, the frame including a field according to a first Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) version decodable by a wireless communication (STA) of a first STA type, the field configured to indicate to the STA of the first STA type that the wireless communication channel is to be reserved for a reserved duration; and to communicate a low-overhead PPDU with a STA of a second STA type over the wireless communication channel during a Synchronized Transmit Opportunity (S-TxOP), wherein the S-TxOP is within the reserved duration, wherein the low-overhead PPDU is configured according to a second PPDU version decodable by the STA of the second STA type, the low overhead PPDU including a low-overhead preamble excluding one or more preamble fields of the first PPDU version.
