    Abstract: An electronic device includes a liquid crystal display device having a first substrate, a second substrate bonded to the first substrate, with liquid crystal material held between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an upper polarizing plate affixed to the second substrate. A protective member is disposed over the upper polarizing plate, and an adhesive member is disposed between the protective member and the upper polarizing plate without an air layer between the protective member and the upper polarizing plate. The protective member is configured as a protective cover of the electronic device.

    Abstract: A lighting device includes: a light source including a light emitting element that emits light having an emission peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 500 nm or less; and first, second and third fluorescent substances on which light emitted from the light emitting element is incident, wherein the first fluorescent substance absorbs at least light emitted from the light emitting element to emit light having a emission peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 500 nm to 580 nm, the second fluorescent substance absorbs at least light emitted from the first fluorescent substance to emit light having a emission peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 580 nm to 750 nm, and the third fluorescent substance absorbs light having a wavelength range of 500 nm or less to emit light having a emission peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 600 nm to 750 nm.

    Abstract: A display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate facing the first substrate. A plurality of spacers is disposed between the first and second substrates. The first substrate includes a plurality of gate lines extending in a row direction, a plurality of data lines extending in a column direction, and a plurality of pixel electrodes. A first insulator covers the plurality of gate lines. A semiconductor layer is formed on the first insulator. A common electrode is formed on the second insulator and faces the plurality of pixel electrodes. A plurality of common lines extend along the plurality of data lines and supply common voltage to the common electrode. A plurality of seat regions are formed in which at least one of the plurality of gate lines, the semiconductor layer, and one of the plurality of data lines overlap to face the plurality of spacers.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device of the instant application includes a first substrate preparing step of preparing a first substrate including a plurality of source lines and a plurality of gate lines; a second substrate preparing step of preparing a second substrate including a color filter; and a substrate bonding step of bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together using a first seal member. In the substrate bonding step, the first seal member is disposed in a manner that at least a part of the first seal member overlaps the color filter in plan view.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: transistors and pixel electrodes respectively provided in pixels; a common electrode facing the pixel electrodes; gate lines extending along the first direction and supplying gate signals to the transistors respectively; gate lead lines extending along the second direction and respectively connected to the gate lines at at least one of a plurality of intersections between the gate lead lines and the gate lines; and data lines extending along the second direction and supplying data signals to the transistors respectively. The pixels are made up of a plurality of types of pixels arranged periodically and repeatedly along the first direction, the data lines and the gate lead lines are formed in a same layer, and either of the data lines and the gate lead lines are alternatively provided for boundaries between two pixels adjacent in the first direction.
