Abstract: A curved display comprises a first substrate 100 and a second substrate 200 that are disposed opposite to each other and both curved along the first direction. The first substrate includes data lines 11 and gate lines 12. The second substrate includes light transmission parts 202 and a light shielding part 203. The light shielding part includes first light shielding portions 203b extending in the first direction and second light shielding portions 203a extending in a second direction. The second light shielding portions include a central light shielding portion a5, a first end light shielding portion al disposed on one end side in the first direction, and a middle light shielding portion disposed therebetween. A width in the first direction of the middle light shielding portion is greater than or equal to that of the central light shielding portion and the first end light shielding portion.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes source lines and gate lines, pixel electrodes, switching elements, a source driver, a gate driver, and a failure inspection circuit. The source lines and the gate lines are disposed in a lattice form. The pixel electrode is disposed in a pixel region defined by the source line and the gate line. The switching element is disposed corresponding to the pixel electrode. The source driver drives the source lines. The gate driver drives the gate lines. The failure inspection circuit is connected to the source lines or the gate lines, and performs inspection of the source lines or the gate lines. The failure inspection circuit includes monitor input signal lines, monitor output signal lines, a determination circuit that detects voltage levels of output signals from the monitor output signal lines, and an expected value comparison circuit that compares outputs from the determination circuit with expected values.

Abstract: A display device including a curved display surface. The display device comprises a first substrate bent in a first direction, a second substrate that is bent in the first direction, spacers disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and bases holding the spacers. The first substrate includes data lines and gate lines, the bases includes: a central base disposed on around a center in the first direction of the display surface; an end base disposed on around an end in the first direction of the display surface; and intermediate bases disposed between the central base and the end base in the first direction, and a width in the first direction of one of intermediate bases is larger than a width in the first direction of the central base.
