Abstract: An example hinged device flexible substrate testing system includes: a first plate comprising a first surface configured to hold stationary a first portion of a hinged device under test; a second plate comprising a second surface configured to hold a second portion of the hinged device under test, the second portion of the hinged device coupled to the first portion via a first hinge having a first folding radius; a third plate comprising a third surface configured to hold a third portion of the hinged device under test, the third portion of the hinged device coupled to the first portion via a second hinge having a second folding radius; a first cam follower coupled to the second plate; a first drive arm configured to move the first cam follower to cause the second plate to rotate about a first hinge pivot axis of the first hinge; a first actuator configured to rotate the first drive arm; a second cam follower coupled to the third plate; a second drive arm configured to move the second cam follower to cause the third plate to rotate about a second hinge pivot axis of the second hinge; a second actuator configured to rotate the second drive arm; and a load cell configured to measure first loads on the first plate while the first actuator moves the second plate and to measure second loads on the first plate while the second actuator moves the third plate.

Abstract: An airport ground power unit for supplying electric current to a parked aircraft and a related system and method. The ground power unit includes a first electric battery, an inverter for transforming an output current of the battery to an alternating output current to be supplied to the aircraft, and one or more first electronic switches for connecting and disconnecting the first battery to and from the inverter. The first switches are connected in serial to the first battery, and together connected to the inverter. A first controller unit controls at least one of the one or more first switches. The ground power unit further includes a second electric battery and second electronic switches for connecting and disconnecting the second battery. The second switches are connected in serial to the second battery and are together connected to the inverter such that they are in parallel to the serially connected first battery and the first switches. At least one of the second switches is controlled by the first or a second digital controller unit.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide a consistent electrode state for welding, an example welding-type system includes: a first wire drive to feed an electrode wire through a welding torch; a bidirectional assisting wire drive to advance the electrode wire from a wire supply to the first wire drive; a tension-compression detector to detect a first tension-compression state of the electrode wire; and one or more motor controllers to control the first wire drive and the assisting wire drive to put the electrode wire in a predetermined position relative to the welding torch by: controlling the first wire drive to hold the electrode wire; and controlling the assisting wire drive to advance or retract the electrode wire based on the first tension-compression state to put the electrode wire in a second tension-compression state.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an actuator device, comprising a driving component, a gear, a first rotary transmission device, and a second rotary transmission device. The driving component comprises a drive rotating shaft, and the first rotary transmission device comprises a first connecting and disconnecting device and has a first output shaft. The second rotary transmission device comprises a second connecting and disconnecting device, and the second rotary transmission device has a second output shaft. When the gear rotates in a first rotation direction or a second rotation direction, one of the first rotary transmission device and the second rotary transmission device is driven, so that one of the connecting and disconnecting devices is driven into an engaged state, wherein one of the output shafts rotates while the other output shaft does not rotate. The actuator device according to the present disclosure has a stable connecting and disconnecting process and a stable output, and can implement double outputs by means of a single actuator. The two output shafts are symmetrically arranged with respect to a rotating shaft of the driving gear and are spaced apart by a certain distance, so that outputs of the output shafts are relatively balanced and do not interfere with each other.

Abstract: Examples of the present subject matter disclose clip-on u-nut (100) having a first leg (102) having a first aperture (106), and a second leg (104) adjoined to the first leg (102) via a u-bend (108). This connection establishes a gap (116) varying between the first leg (102) and the second leg (104), which are relatively moveable to accommodate a part (200) in the gap therebetween. The second leg (104) has a misalignment adjustment component (112) that comprises a body (120) and a second aperture (122) that is an oblong-shaped through-hole. The second aperture (122) co-operates with the first aperture (106) to receive a fastener (202). The first aperture (106) and the second aperture (122) have a plurality of relative fastening positions with respect to each other to accommodate the fastener (202) in multiple orientations, allowing the clip-on u-nut (100) to accommodate variations in part sizes and thicknesses.
