Abstract: A method of monolithically forming a flip-top cap from a thermoplastic material and a flip-top cap for dispensing a flowable dental substance. The flip-top cap has a base from which a dropper nose protrudes and a closure. The base and the closure are hingedly connected to each other by a living hinge for pivoting between a closed position, in which the closure closes the dropper nose, and an open position, in which the dropper nose is uncovered from the closure. The method has the steps of injection molding the flip-top cap in the open position in an injection molding device and positioning the closure and the base toward the closed position while the flip-top cap is still the injection molding device.

Abstract: A syringe (1) for dispensing a dental substance. The syringe has a container (11) that forms at least a first and a second component chamber (111, 112) and a plunger (12) having a first and a second plunger rod (121, 122). The first and second plunger rod (121, 122) are at least partially arranged in the first and second chambers, respectively, for a movement from a full position to an empty position over a displacement length. The syringe (1) further has an actuator (13) that is guided for a movement relative to the container (11). The movement of the actuator (13) is restricted for a predetermined actuation stroke being defined by a length between a rear position and a front position of the actuator (13). The plunger has a toothing and the teeth of the toothing are spaced at a pitch P. The actuator has at least a first pawl (139a) that meshes into the toothing of the plunger (12). The first pawl (139a) and the teeth of the toothing are configured such that in a movement of the actuator (13) in a direction from the front toward the rear position the pawl overrides the teeth and in a movement in the opposite direction the pawl engages the teeth. The displacement length is greater than the actuation stroke and the actuation stroke is at least twice of the pitch P. The syringe (1) allows for precisely dosed dispensing of multiple different portion of dental material.

Abstract: A dispenser for a pasty material has a container, a cover and a handle. The dispenser is operable by twisting the cover and the handle relative to each other in a dispensing direction for dispensing material and, alternatively, in an opposite closing direction. The container having an outlet for the material and the cover having a dispensing opening. The container and the cover are arranged relative to each other for a rotation between a closed position, in which the cover closes the outlet, and an open position, in which the dispensing opening opens the outlet. A first engagement mechanism is provided for enabling the container and the handle to engage with each other in at least one angular position during twisting in the closing direction. The first engagement mechanism further forming a freewheel mechanism with respect to a rotation in the dispensing direction. The first engagement mechanism has a first snap-stop for providing the engagement between the handle and the container and for impeded disengagement when engaged. A second engagement mechanism is provided for enabling the rotation of the container and the cover in an angular range between the closed position and the open position and restricting a rotation outside that range. The second engagement mechanism has a second snap-stop for providing the restriction between the container and the cover with respect to a twisting toward the dispensing direction and providing for an impeded disengagement when engaged in the open position. The first snap-stop provides for an impeding force to be overcome for disengagement and the second snap-stop provides for a snap-in force to be overcome for engagement. The first and second snap-stop are configured such that the impeding force is greater than the snap-in force.

Abstract: A device for dispensing a dental material has a cartridge with a dispensing end. The dispensing end has a dispensing opening for the dental material. The dispensing end further has in essence an axially symmetric shape with a truncation. The truncation provides the dispensing end with a generally flat dispensing surface through which the dispensing opening extends. The device has further a cap received on the dispensing end. The cap and the dispensing end are rotatable relative to each other between an open position, in which an orifice in the cap uncovers the dispensing surface, and a closed position, in which a closed space is formed between the cap and the dispensing surface. The device allows for a relatively convenient dispensation of dental material, in particular for a dispensation of a dental composite filling material.

Abstract: A dispenser comprising a body with an outlet, and a closure for the outlet. The closure and the body are pivotally movable relative to each other between an open position in which the outlet is open and a closed position in which the closure closes the outlet. The closure and the body are adapted for locking engagement with each another in the closed position.
