Abstract:
Development of exposed photographic silver halide emulsion is described wherein development occurs by means of an organometallic complex of a metal capable of changing its valency and an aliphatic aminocarboxylic acid containing at least one mono- or di(carboxyalkyl)aminoalkyl group and at least one hydroxyl group, or a water-soluble salt of the chelating compounds.
Abstract:
PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED WHICH COMPRISE IN A LIGHT-SENSITIVE SILVER HALIDE EMULSION LAYER OR IN A WATERPERMEABLE LAYER ADJACENT THERETO A COMPOUND OF THE FORMULA:
X-Q-A-C WHEREIN: Z REPRESENTS THE ATOMS NECESSARY TO CLOSE A HETEROCYCLE, Q STANDS FOR SULPHUR OR SELENIUM, A STANDS FOR ALKYLENE WHICH MAY BE INTERRUPTED BY ONE OR MORE HETERO ATOMS, S-ALKYLENE WHICH MAY BE INTERRUPTED BY ONE OR MORE HETERO ATOMS, OR ARYLENE, X STANDS FOR ALKYL, ALKENYL OR ARYL, OR A AND X TOGETHER REPRESENT THE ATOMS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE A SATURATED HETEROCYCLE, THE SAID COMPOUND COMPRISING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY LINKED TO THE GROUP Z AND/OR X A -COOM OR SO3M GROUP WHEREIN M IS HYDROGEN, AMMONIUM, A METAL ATOM OR ORGANIC AMMONIUM. THESE MATERIALS HAVE REDUCED FOGGING TENDENCY, EVEN UNDER CONDITIONS OF HIGH HUMIDITY AND HEAT, AND THEIR SENSITIVITY IS SUBSTANTIALLY UNAFFECTED BY THE PRESENCE OF THE AFORESAID COMPOUND.
Abstract:
Photographic silver halide elements comprising a support and a water permeable colloid layer including as a coating aid at least one compound of the general formula: IN WHICH A is a methylene group or an ethylene group, R is a hydrocarbon radical, or an aliphatic carboxylic acyl radical, N IS AN INTEGER UP TO 40, AND M is hydrogen, an alkali metal atom, ammonium or an organic amine, are described. These photographic elements do not exhibit hydrophobic inclusions which lead to repellency spots or comets.
Abstract:
A photographic element comprising a glass support and a photosensitive emulsion layer on said support comprising a filmforming proteinaceous colloid is described. The adherence of the emulsion layer to the glass support is enhanced by including the emulsion layer an organic silicon compound having hydrocarbon groups directly or indirectly attached to a silicon atom wherein at least one of the hydrocarbon groups carries a group or atom which has chemical affinity for the free reactive groups of the proteinaceous colloid or which can be cross-linked to the free reactive groups through the intermediary of a cross-linking agent. The adherence of the photosensitive emulsion layer to the glass support is enhanced without affecting the photosensitive properties of the emulsion layer.
Abstract:
Photographic silver halide elements are described which comprise incorporated in a silver halide emulsion layer or another waterpermeable colloid layer a hydroquinone silver halide developing agent precursor of which at least one of the hydroxyl groups of said hydroquinone has been esterified to form a hydrolyzable aliphatic acyloxy radical comprising a quaternary ammonium group. Upon treatment of the exposed elements with an alkaline solution the developing agent precursor hydrolyzes readily to yield the active developing agent so that no delay in development occurs. The resulting developed images are free from spots, do not show fog and possess the desired sensitivity and gradation with normal or even shorter length of development time.
Abstract:
A rapid process for producing a stable photographic image is disclosed which comprises developing an exposed silver halide emulsion layer of a photographic material and treating the developed emulsion layer with a stabilizing solution containing a stabilizing agent such as ammonium thiocyanate and a heterocyclic thioxo compound showing thioxo-thiol tautomerism and corresponding to the formula WHEREIN Z represents the atoms necessary to close a five or six member heterocyclic nucleus containing at least one sulfo group in acid or salt form. The residual unexposed and undeveloped silver halide which is left in the emulsion layer forms a light inert complex. The thioxo-thiol compound improves the stability of the produced image to light, heat, and humidity.
Abstract:
THE USE OF 2,4 -DITHIOXI- 1,2,3,4-THTRAHYDRO-1,3,5-TRIAZINES, OR THE TAUTOMERIC FORMS THEREOF AS ANTI-BRONZING AGENTS IN PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIALS AND PROCESS IS DESCRIBED.
Abstract:
PHOTOGRAPHIC LIGHT-SENSITIVE SILVER HALIDE MATERIALS ARE DESCRIBED INCLUDING A NON-LIGHT-SENSITIVE WATER-PERMEABLE COLLOID LAYER AND HAVING INCORPORATED THEREIN AT LEAST ONE ORGANIC COMPOUND COMPRISING A MERCAPTO GROUP OR A THIOXO GROUP SHOWING THIOXO-THIOL TAUTOMERISM, A GROUP RENDERING THE COMPOUND FAST TO DIFFUSION IN SAID COLLOID LAYER AND A GROUP RENDERING THE MOLECULE WATER-SOLUBLE OR ALKALI-SOLUBLE. THE SAID ORGANIC COMPOUND PREVENTS YELLOWING OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL.
