    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first UE (User Equipment) in RRC_CONNECTED to detect configuration failure. In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE transmitting a first PC5 RRC (Radio Resource Control) message to a second UE, wherein the first PC5 RRC message includes an AS (Access Stratum)-layer configuration for a unicast link established with the second UE. The method also includes the first UE transmitting a fourth RRC message to a network node if a configuration failure of the AS-layer configuration is detected, wherein the fourth RRC message indicates the configuration failure occurs.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. A first sidelink Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) for PC5-S message transmission is established. The first sidelink SRB is associated with a default Destination Layer-2 Identity (ID). A first PC5-S message is transmitted on the first sidelink SRB with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the first UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the default Destination Layer-2 ID. A second PC5-S message is received from a second UE. The second PC5-S message is transmitted with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the second UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the Layer-2 ID of the first UE. A second sidelink SRB for PC5-S message reception and/or transmission is established. The second sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. The first UE establishes a first sidelink Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) for PC5-S message transmission if a unicast link or a PC5-Radio Resource Control (PC5-RRC) connection establishment is initiated, wherein the first sidelink SRB is associated with a default Destination Layer-2 Identity (ID). Also, the first UE transmits a first PC5-S message for the unicast link or the PC5-RRC connection establishment on the first sidelink SRB with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the first UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the default Destination Layer-2 ID. Furthermore, the first UE receives a second PC5-S message from a second UE, wherein the second PC5-S message is transmitted with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the second UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the Layer-2 ID of the first UE. In addition, the first UE establishes a second sidelink SRB for PC5-S message reception and/or transmission, wherein the second sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE. Furthermore, the first UE establishes a third sidelink SRB for PC5-RRC message transmission if the unicast link or the PC5-RRC connection establishment has been successfully completed, wherein the third sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first User Equipment (UE) to support PC5 QoS flow to SL-DRB (Sidelink-Data Radio Bearer) remapping. In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE establishing a sidelink communication with a second UE. The method further includes the first UE mapping a PC5 QoS flow of the sidelink communication to a first SL-DRB. The method also includes the first UE transmitting a PC5 RRC (Radio Resource Control) message to the second UE, wherein the PC5 RRC message indicates the PC5 QoS flow is mapped to a second SL-DRB.     Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a network node. In one embodiment, the method includes the network node transmitting a first message with a DRB (Data Radio Bearer) configuration to a UE (User Equipment) for establishing a default DRB for a PDU (Packet Data Unit) session, wherein the DRB configuration includes a QFI (QoS Flow Id) configuration used to indicate whether a QFI field is present or not in uplink for the default DRB and the QFI configuration is always set to a value indicating the QFI field is present in uplink for the default DRB. The method further includes the network node establishing the default DRB with a presence of the QFI field in uplink. The method also includes the network node receiving a SDAP (Service Data Adaptation Protocol) PDU with the QFI field via the default DRB from the UE.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for handling transmission during a random access procedure are disclosed herein. In one method, the UE initiates a random access (RA) procedure. The UE receives a RA response during the RA procedure, wherein the RA response indicates a first uplink (UL) grant for the UE to perform a Msg3 transmission by a specific hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. The UE receives a second UL grant for the UE to perform a specific transmission, wherein the specific transmission is to be performed during the RA procedure. The UE determines whether to perform the specific transmission based on at least whether the specific transmission is to be performed by the specific HARQ process used for the Msg3 transmission, wherein the Msg3 transmission and the specific transmission are not overlapped in a time domain.
