Abstract: A method of operating a communications device for transmitting signals to and/or receiving signals from a non-terrestrial network, NTN, while the communications device is in an inactive state is provided. The method comprises commencing a small data transmission, SDT, failure timer setting a time period during which the communications device can communicate one or more SDTs with the NTN when the communications device is located inside a coverage area provided by the NTN. The method comprises determining that the communications device is expected to enter a coverage gap before the SDT failure timer expires. The coverage gap is a time period during which the communications device is located outside the coverage area provided by the NTN. The method comprises adjusting the commenced SDT failure timer based on an estimate of the coverage gap.

Abstract: An example operation includes one or more of assigning a time slot to a vehicle for a charging operation at a charging station, where the time slot includes a starting point in time and an end point in time, transmitting a notification to the vehicle which includes an identifier of the charging station and the starting point in time, iteratively capturing sensor data at the charging station, determining whether the charging operation started on time based on the starting point in time and the sensor data, and in response to a determination that the charging operation started on time, delivering content to the vehicle while the charging operation is being performed.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for generating a vehicle-to-vehicle traffic alert and updating a vehicle-usage profile. Various aspects include detecting, via one or more processors associated with a first vehicle, that an abnormal traffic condition exists in an operating environment of the first vehicle. An electronic message is generated and transmitted wirelessly, via a vehicle-mounted transceiver associated with the first vehicle, to alert a nearby vehicle of the abnormal traffic condition and to allow the nearby vehicle to avoid the abnormal traffic condition. The first vehicle receives telematics data regarding operation of the nearby vehicle after the nearby vehicle received the electronic message, and transmits the telematics data to a remote server for updating a vehicle-usage profile associated with the nearby vehicle.

Abstract: A method is disclosed. A data set including: (a) identifiers of a set of incidents occurring within a defined geographic region to which at least one service provider responded during a first time period and (b) address data identifying a location within the geographic region of each said incident of the set is retrieved over a network. An instruction to generate a heat map of the incidents occurring within the geographic region during the first time period is received from a user via a user interface generated to a display device. In response to the instruction to generate the heat map, the address data is converted to GPS data. A heat map of an aerial view of the geographic region based on the GPS data is generated. The heat map is displayed to the display device in a user interface.

The TCU device includes cellular data connectivity enabling communication with the management system through existing cellular telephone networks. The programmable TCU may be toggled between multiple operating modes, wherein the TCU provides different functionality, such that a single vehicle may participate in multiple vehicle programs at different points in time, including separate vehicle rental and vehicle sharing programs.
