Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE maintains a first counter and a second counter, wherein the first counter and the second counter are associated with a Special Cell (SpCell) and are for counting beam failure instance indications. The UE initiates a first beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure based on the first counter being equal to or larger than a value, wherein the first BFR procedure includes initiating a random access procedure for SpCell BFR associated with the SpCell. The UE sets the first counter and the second counter to a defined value in response to completion of the first BFR procedure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE initiates a random access procedure. The UE receives a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission. The UE determines whether contention resolution associated with the random access procedure is successful. If the initiating the random access procedure is performed for Special Cell (SpCell) beam failure recovery, the determining whether the contention resolution is successful is based on whether the PDCCH transmission is addressed to a Cell Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) of the UE. If the initiating the random access procedure is performed for Secondary Cell (SCell) beam failure recovery, the determining whether the contention resolution is successful is based on whether the PDCCH transmission is addressed to the C-RNTI of the UE and whether the PDCCH transmission contains an uplink (UL) grant for a new transmission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device for performing sidelink communication. In one embodiment, the first device includes a MAC CE in a MAC PDU, wherein if the MAC PDU comprises the MAC CE without data, SL HARQ feedback is disabled for the MAC PDU. The first device further includes sidelink data associated with a first sidelink logical channel in the MAC PDU, wherein the first sidelink logical channel is configured to enable sidelink HARQ feedback. The first device also sets or indicates enable SL HARQ feedback for the MAC PDU in a SCI, wherein the SCI schedules a sidelink transmission delivering the MAC PDU. Furthermore, the first device transmits the SCI and performs the sidelink transmission to a second device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for handling device-to-device feedback transmission in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a first device receives a configuration for operating in a network scheduling mode for acquiring sidelink resources. The first device receives a sidelink control information with a report request from a second device. The first device transmits a signaling of the scheduling request to the network. The first device receives a sidelink grant from the network.
