摘要： A scheme for replicating data items from a computer system to a mobile data communication device. In one embodiment, a method comprises one or more of the following: automatically detecting arrival of the data items at the computer system; characterizing the data items based on a characterization scheme; and redirecting the characterized data items from the computer system to the mobile data communication device, wherein the characterization scheme is adapted to correspond with a user-selectable notification scheme operable at the mobile data communication device.

摘要： A system and method for pushing information from a host system to a mobile data communication device upon sensing a triggering event is disclosed. A redirector program operating at the host system enables a user to continuously redirect certain user-selected data items from the host system to the user's mobile data communication device upon detecting that one or more user-defined triggering events has occurred. The redirector program operates in connection with event generating applications and repackaging systems at the host system to configure and detect a particular user-defined event, and then to repackage the user-selected data items in an electronic wrapper prior to pushing the data items to the mobile device. The system includes attachment processing components for identifying one or more attachment displayers in the vicinity of the mobile data communication device and then routing an attachment from the host system directly to a selected attachment displayer.

摘要： An embodiment of a communication system includes an Internet-based network server having a redirector component executing thereon, wherein the network server is connected to a host computer system via a wide area network connection. The redirector component is configured for commencing redirection of user data items from the host computer system to a mobile computer via a wireless network. The mobile computer is configured for receiving user data items redirected from the host computer system for a user, wherein the mobile computer includes another redirector component that is adapted to push at least a portion of a user data item received from the host computer system to another device based on a trigger flag set at the mobile computer.

In one embodiment, a method may comprise: automatically detecting arrival of a message at a messaging server for a user having a mail address thereat, the message being displayable on a computer for the user with a status indicator icon associated therewith; processing at least a portion of an instance of the message for transmission to the user's mobile data communication device over a wireless network; receiving a status signal from the mobile data communication device indicating that the message has been deleted on the mobile data communication device; and altering the status indicator icon associated with the message on the computer responsive to the status signal.
