Abstract: Example medical stents are disclosed. An example stent includes a tubular framework including an inner surface, an outer surface and a lumen extending therethrough. Additionally, the stent includes a tissue ingrowth scaffold extending along a portion of the outer surface of the tubular framework, wherein the tissue ingrowth scaffold is spaced radially away from the outer surface of the tubular framework to define an expansion cavity therebetween and wherein the tissue ingrowth scaffold permits tissue ingrowth along a portion thereof. Further, the stent includes an expandable member positioned within at least a portion of the expansion cavity.

The plurality of first filaments may be interwoven with the plurality of second filaments. The first helical path of at least one of the plurality of first filaments may include a circumferential offset disposed between the first end and the second end.

Abstract: An esophageal stent configured to span a stricture may include a tubular body configured to shift between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, the tubular body having a first end and a second end. In the deployed configuration: the tubular body defines a first flange portion, a second flange portion, and a saddle portion extending from the first flange portion to the second flange portion; the tubular body further defining an overall longitudinal length extending from the first end to the second end; the first flange portion has a first outer radial extent, and the second flange portion has a second outer radial extent; the first outer radial extent and the second outer radial extent are greater than an outer radial extent of the saddle portion; and a longitudinal length of the saddle portion is at least 50% of the overall longitudinal length of the tubular body.

Abstract: A medical device for treating esophageal atresia may include a woven tubular member having a first end, a second end, and a body portion extending between the first end and the second end. The first end may have a first flange extending radially outwardly from the body portion. The second end may have a second flange extending radially outwardly from the body portion. The woven tubular member may be configured to transition from an initially-deployed state toward an equilibrium state. In the initially-deployed state, the body portion may include an inner region extending from the first flange to a transition region and an outer region extending from the second flange to the transition region. The outer region may surround the inner region. The woven tubular member may be self-biased to be in the equilibrium state.

Abstract: A braided stent having a plurality of retrieval and/or repositioning levers includes a stent body formed of a plurality of wires interbraided in a braided pattern. The repositioning and/or retrieval levers have a loop portion extending radially away from the stent body and first and second legs extending along the stent body. The levers are configured to be actuated radially inward toward the central longitudinal axis of the stent by a radially inwardly directed force to radially collapse the stent.
