Abstract: A medical stent includes an elongate tubular body extending from a proximal end region to a distal end region. The distal end region of the elongate tubular body may be adapted to resist migration as a result of peristaltic force. The distal end region of the elongate tubular body may include two or more longitudinally-extending voids and two or more longitudinally-extending dynamic engagement features that are defined between adjacent longitudinally-extending voids. The two or more longitudinally-extending dynamic engagement features are adapted to splay radially outwardly in response to an applied peristaltic force, thereby dissipating the applied peristaltic force.

The stent delivery device includes a proximal junction removably coupling a distal portion of the outer sheath to a proximal portion of the outer sheath, where the proximal junction is actuatable to decouple the distal portion of the outer sheath from the proximal portion of the outer sheath. The distal and proximal junctions may be separately actuatable by rotating the inner member relative to the proximal portion of the outer sheath.
