Abstract: Syringe assemblies are described herein. A syringe assembly includes an assembly housing, a first syringe, a second syringe, and a connecting gear. The first syringe is disposed within the assembly housing. Each plunger is movable within the respective syringe cavity and defines a respective chamber in the respective syringe cavity, wherein the respective chamber is in fluid communication with the respective syringe port, the respective plunger comprising a respective gear rack extending longitudinally along the respective plunger. The connecting gear is rotatably coupled to the assembly housing. The connecting gear is configured to be in meshed engagement with at least one of the first gear rack and the second gear rack of the syringes.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes fluid pathways controllable by valves of the cartridge. A pump component within the cartridge is actuable to move fluid through the controllable fluid pathways. The cartridge includes a needle extending from a cartridge body and fluidly coupled to at least one of the controllable fluid pathways. A vial puck is provided for attachment to a vial to be fluidly coupled to the cartridge by the needle. The vial puck may include a hygroscopic member to absorb fluid from the needle to ensure a dry disconnect. A shuttle valve may also be provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes fluid pathways controllable by valves of the cartridge. The cartridge includes a needle extending from a cartridge body and fluidly coupled to at least one of the controllable fluid pathways. The cartridge includes a vacuum bellows that surrounds the needle when the bellows is in an extended configuration. The vacuum bellows is compressible to expose the needle and generates a vacuum condition within the bellows when the bellows is extended from a compressed configuration to the extended configuration. The needle may be a dual-lumen plastic needle.

Abstract: A needleless connector includes a housing having a central longitudinal axis, a body portion, and a base portion. The body portion includes an inner surface forming an internal cavity, and a first port forming a first fluid passage to the housing cavity. The base portion includes a top end section and a bottom end section. The top end section has a protrusion, and the bottom end portion has a second port forming a second fluid passage to the housing cavity. The needleless connector further includes a valve having a wall with an inner surface forming a valve cavity. The valve is coupled with the housing such that the protrusion is positioned in the valve cavity, and a proximal end of the protrusion is spaced apart from a proximal end of the valve cavity.
