    Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for registering a wireless station such as a CBRS transmitter establishes registration parameters including location and channel information for avoiding interference from other wireless stations in close proximity. A network address of the wireless station is employed to identify location information in GPS coordinates by referencing a subscriber database with billing or service address information. Registration proceeds with the mapped GPS address and a frequency or channel subject to little or no interference with nearby wireless station by ensuring sufficient geographic and bandwidth separation.

    Abstract: In a Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) system, high-power customer premises equipment (HP-CPE) transmits a registration request to a spectrum access system (SAS), which determines a CPE device type for the HP-CPE and transmits a positive registration response to the HP-CPE. The HP-CPE transmits a grant request to the SAS, which transmits a positive grant response to the HP-CPE. The HP-CPE transmits a heartbeat request to the SAS, which relies on the CPE device type to approve the heartbeat request without relying on a corresponding Coordinated Periodic Activity among SASs (CPAS) process, and transmits a positive heartbeat response to the HP-CPE. In one method, the SAS determines the CPE device type using a database that maps FCC model numbers to device types. In another method, the registration request contains a field with the CPE device type. Both methods enable immediate HP-CPE authorization without the delay of a CPAS process.

    Abstract: A network environment includes a communication management resource, a first wireless station, and a second wireless station. The communication management resource initially allocates a first wireless channel to the first wireless station; the first wireless channel is selected from multiple available wireless channels. The communication management resource detects that a second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station. For example, the second wireless station is substituted as a replacement to the first wireless station. In response to the detecting that the second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station, the communication management resource allocates the first wireless channel to the second wireless station.

    Abstract: A network environment includes a communication management resource in communication with customer premises equipment through a wireless base station. The communication management resource (such as a spectrum access system) receives a request for allocation of a wireless channel from customer premises equipment. The request is generated via the customer premises equipment and communicated through the wireless base station to the communication management resource. In addition to receiving the allocation request from the customer premises equipment, the communication management resource receives channel selection information from the wireless base station. Via the channel selection information, the wireless base station suggests/selects a wireless channel to assign for use by the customer premises equipment. In response to receiving the request, and in accordance with the channel selection information, the communication management resource allocates a selected wireless channel to the customer premises equipment as indicated by the channel selection information.

The wireless station receives a first notification from the provisioning system. The first notification indicating that the wireless station is assigned to a first allocation management resource. The first allocation management resource operable to allocate wireless resources for use by the wireless station to support wireless communications. The wireless station communicates with the first allocation management resource to receive allocation information indicating the wireless resources allocated for use by the wireless station. In response to receiving a second notification that the wireless station has been reassigned to a second allocation management resource, the wireless station communicates with the second allocation management resource instead of the first allocation management resource to receive the allocation information.

    Abstract: According to one configuration, a base station controller monitors use of multiple wireless channels amongst multiple wireless base stations operating in a wireless network environment. In response to detecting under allocation of wireless channels between a first wireless base station and a first group of communication devices, the base station control allocates a supplemental wireless channel to the first wireless base station. In one embodiment, the base station controller de-allocates a wireless channel from a second wireless base station and assigns the de-allocated wireless channel to the first wireless base station as the supplemental wireless channel. The base station controller then transmits a channel allocation communication to the first wireless base station, the channel allocation communication indicating an identity of the supplemental wireless channel allocated for use by the first wireless base station.
