    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for caching provenance information. For example, in an information system comprising a first computing device requesting provenance data from at least a second computing device, a method for improving the delivery of provenance data to the first computing device, comprises the following steps. At least one cache is maintained for storing provenance data which the first computing device can access with less overhead than accessing the second computing device. Aggregated provenance data is produced from input provenance data. A decision whether or not to cache input provenance data is made based on a likelihood of the input provenance data being used to produce aggregated provenance data. By way of example, the first computing device may comprise a client and the second computing device may comprise a server.

    摘要: A method and corresponding electronic ballast circuit for regulating the ignition voltage of a discharge lamp is described. The circuit includes a discharge lamp with an AC operating voltage supplied by a half-bridge inverter circuit comprising two transistors. The method includes detecting the current flowing through one transistor of the two transistors, and comparing the detected current with a predetermined reference value. When the detected current exceeds a predetermined reference value, a driving period of the one transistor is terminated and the driving period of the other transistor of said two transistors is started, and the driving period of said other transistor is made to be the same as the terminated driving period of the one transistor.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for user information processing in a network environment. The method performs an orthogonal transform on first and second vectors representing information related to first and second users respectively to obtain first and second transformed vectors. Then, the method splits the first and second transformed vectors into two parts respectively, such that first and second vectors cannot be derived from the first or second parts. The first and second user devices exchange the first part of the first transformed vector and the second part of the second transformed vector. The first and second user devices calculate the inner product of the first parts and the second parts respectively. Finally, the two inner products of the parts are summed to get an inner product of the first and second vectors. Also provided are a method and system for resource recommendation in a network environment.

    摘要: A sub-resolutional grayscale reticle and associated fabrication method have been presented. The method provides a transparent substrate, and forms a plurality of coincident partial-light transmissive layers overlying the transparent substrate. A pattern is formed, sub-resolutional at a first wavelength, in at least one of the transmissive layers. If there are n transmissive layers, the reticle transmits at least (n+1) intensities of light. In one aspect, each of the plurality of transmissive layers has the same extinction coefficient and the same thickness. In other aspects, the transmissive layers may have different thickness. Then, even if the extinction coefficients are the same, the attenuation of light through each layer is different. The transmission characteristics of the reticle can be further varied if the transmissive layers have different extinction coefficients. Likewise, the transmission characteristics through the sub-resolutional patterns can be varied.

    摘要: An asynchronous request-response communication method is applied in data transmission for applications running in a server. The asynchronous request-response method includes the following steps. Establish a socket and a connection port corresponding to a request in a request side; set an object pool in each request side respectively, for recording connection statuses of the sockets corresponding to different requests; wait till the server has finished the request; once the server has finished the received request, the server transmits a callback message to the corresponding socket of the request side; and search a corresponding process event in the object pool according to the callback message. The request side adopts the socket and the connection port to perform the asynchronous request-response operations, thereby reducing the connection load between the server and the request side.
