    Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes: a field system including a magnet section having a plurality of magnetic poles whose polarities alternate in a circumferential direction; and an armature arranged to face the field system and including a multi-phase armature coil. Either of the field system and the armature is configured as a rotor. The field system also includes a soft-magnetic core having at least one magnet-receiving hole in which the magnet section is received and held. The armature coil has electrical conductor sections arranged at positions facing the field system and at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction. In the armature, inter-conductor members are provided between the electrical conductor sections in the circumferential direction. The inter-conductor members in each part of the armature corresponding to one magnetic pole are magnetically saturated by magnetic flux from one magnetic pole of the magnet section when the electrical conductor sections are not energized.

    Abstract: In a rotating electric machine, a field element has magnetic poles of which polarities alternate in a circumferential direction. An armature includes an armature core having a circular cylindrical shape, and an armature winding of multiple phases. The field element and the armature are provided to oppose each other in a radial direction with an air gap therebetween. Either of the field element and the armature serving as a rotor. The armature winding has a coil-side conductor portion that opposes the magnetic pole of the field element in the radial direction. The coil-side conductor portions are arranged in an array in the circumferential direction. The armature winding is provided with a protruding portion that, between an inner side and an outer side in the radial direction, protrudes towards the field element, and is located further towards an outer side in an axial direction than the coil-side conductor portion is.

    Abstract: A magnet unit includes magnets adjacently arranged in a circumferential direction. Each magnet is oriented to have easy axes of magnetization in a region, as located near a d-axis defined on a center of the magnetic pole, to be more parallel to the d-axis than those in a region located near a q-axis defined on a boundary between the magnetic poles. Each magnet has a center on the d-axis between a respective two of the q-axes adjacently arranged in the circumferential direction. Each magnet has magnet magnetic paths extending along the easy axes of magnetization. Plate members making a magnet retainer has formed therein holes mutually aligned in an axial direction and in which fasteners are disposed to fasten the plate members together. The magnet retainer has divider walls which isolate between the magnets. The holes are aligned with the divider walls in a radial direction of the plate members.

    Abstract: A rotating electrical machine includes a rotor and a magnet unit. The rotating electrical machine also includes a cylindrical stator and a housing. The stator is equipped with a stator winding made up of a plurality of phase windings. The stator is arranged coaxially with the rotor and faces the rotor. The housing has the rotor and the stator disposed therein. The rotor includes a cylindrical magnet retainer to which the magnet unit is secured and an intermediate portion which connects between a rotating shaft of the rotor and the magnet retainer and extends in a radial direction of the rotating shaft. A first region located radially inside an inner peripheral surface of a magnetic circuit component made up of the stator and the rotor is greater in volume than a second region between the inner peripheral surface of the magnetic circuit component and the housing in the radial direction.

    Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a field system having a magnet section and an armature having a multi-phase armature coil. The magnet section has easy axes of magnetization oriented to be more parallel to a d-axis at locations closer to the d-axis than at locations closer to a q-axis. The magnet section has an intrinsic coercive force higher than or equal to 400 [kA/m] and a residual flux density higher than or equal to 1.0 [T]. There are no inter-conductor members provided between electrical conductor sections of the armature coil. The armature coil includes a plurality of phase windings each of which is constituted of a plurality of partial windings. Each of the partial windings is formed of an electrical conductor that is multiply wound in the electrical conductor sections of the same phase. In each of the phase windings, the partial windings are connected in parallel with each other.

    Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes a magnet section constituted of permanent magnets. The stator is arranged coaxially with the rotor and includes a stator coil and a stator coil holder. The stator coil is formed of electrical conductors arranged in a circumferential direction of the stator. The stator coil holder is configured to hold the stator coil. In the stator, there are provided inter-conductor members between the electrical conductors in the circumferential direction or no inter-conductor members are provided between the electrical conductors in the circumferential direction. Moreover, the inter-conductor members are formed of a magnetic material satisfying a predetermined relationship or formed of a nonmagnetic material. The stator coil has a coil end part protruding from an axial end of the stator coil holder. A soft-magnetic member is provided on at least part of a surface of the coil end part.
