    摘要: The present invention is a process for producing high diblock content block copolymer compositions which comprises (a) anionically polymerizing at least one vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one conjugated diene to form a living block copolymer, (b) coupling the block copolymer with a coupling agent selected from the group consisting of esters of carboxylic acids and asymmetric silanes to create a coupled polymer, (c) combining the coupled polymer with other components to form an enduse composition, and (d) heating the composition at a temperature up to 130.degree. C. for a time sufficient to decouple the coupled copolymer such that the amount of uncoupled copolymer in the composition ranges from 10 to 100% by weight of the total amount of block copolymer.

    摘要: A coating composition is provided from about 0.5 to about 80 parts by weight of a modified selectively hydrogenated block copolymer comprising at least one block of predominantly vinyl arene monomer units and at least one block which is, before hydrogenation, predominantly conjugated diolefin monomer units, the modified block copolymers having been modified by grafting predominantly to the conjugated diolefin block a carboxylic acid or acid derivative and 100 parts by weight of an epoxy resin. The blend of the modified block copolymer and epoxy resin is heated to above 150.degree. C. for a time sufficient for the carboxylic acid or acid derivative to form an adduct with the epoxy resin. The modified block copolymer forms a stable suspension in the epoxy after the adduct is formed which greatly enhances storage stability.

    摘要: A process for making polymers of conjugated dienes which contain hydroxyl groups in the diene blocks which comprises(a) making a precursor polymer by polymerizing at least one conjugated diene which leaves 1,2 disubstituted, 1,1 disubstituted, 1,1,2 trisubstituted or tetrasubstituted olefinic unsaturation in the polymer,(b) optionally partially hydrogenating said precursor polymer,(c) epoxidizing said precursor polymer such that epoxy groups form at said substituted sites and the amount of epoxy functionality in the polymer is from 0.1 to 5 Meq/g polymer, and(d) reacting the epoxidized polymer with an alcohol solution of hydrochloric acid.A diene polymer containing 0.1 to 10 Meq/g polymer of hydroxyl group and comprised of alcohol units of the formula ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or alkyl radicals and X and X' are either --OH or --Cl and at least one of them is --OH.
