    摘要: The present disclosure generally discloses an autonomous wireless transmission mechanism. The autonomous wireless transmission mechanism may be configured to support autonomous transmissions by wireless end devices to wireless access nodes in a connectionless manner. In general, an autonomous wireless transmission by a wireless end device may include transmission of a preamble in a preamble transmission zone and autonomous transmission of a payload over one or more resource units of one or more payload transmission zones without requiring establishment of a connection between the wireless end device and the wireless access node. The autonomous wireless transmission mechanism, by obviating the need for a wireless end device to establish a connection with a wireless access node in order to transmit data to the wireless access node, also obviates a need for the wireless end device to operate in a scheduled transmission mode.

    摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for reusing resources of a wireless network. Radio communications resources of the wireless network are divided into partitions. A system described herein allows access to resources in the first partition by a first set of users for primary communications on the first partition, and allows access to resources in the first partition by a second set of users for secondary communications on the first partition. The control system also allows access to resources in the second partition by the second set of users for primary communications on the second partition, and allows access to resources in the second partition by the first set of users for secondary communications on the second partition.

These methods have complementary strengths and limitations when implemented in a practical setting. The approach described herein attempts to combine the strengths of these two methods while working within the constraints imposed by practical implementations to provide a viable hybrid solution.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for routing a data flow from a source node to a destination node in a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). The present invention performs this function by first determining desired service requirements for an individual data flow to be forwarded to a destination node. Next, the present invention broadcasts an advertisement for each of the links in the MANET by the corresponding origination nodes, the advertisement including a value indicating the current performance level of the link. After broadcasting the advertisements, routing tables are composed at each of the nodes based upon the advertisements. Each routing table is constructed taking into account the advertised links and their corresponding values. After composing the routing tables, packets are forwarded toward their respective destinations by utilizing the routing tables in such a manner that the desired service requirements are satisfied.

    摘要: The present invention increases the success rate of soft handoffs by enhancing the ability of a mobile-telephone to receive a handoff direction message that identifies the traffic channel being assigned to enable a candidate base station to communicate with the mobile-telephone. Specifically, the aforementioned ability of the mobile-telephone is enhanced by using the candidate base station to transmit the handoff direction message on a communication channel belonging to the candidate base station and being listened to by the mobile-telephone. In situations where signals transmitted from active set base stations have a low signal-to-noise ratio at the mobile-telephone, signals transmitted from the candidate base station may have a higher signal-to-noise ratio at the mobile-telephone. In these situations, the transmission of the HD messages from the candidate base station increases the likelihood that a copy of the handoff direction message will be successfully received by the mobile-telephone, thereby enhancing the success rate of soft handoffs.
