A transfer protocol conversion method and a protocol conversion equipment are disclosed in order to transmits TS packets for a CATV network, a DAVIC network or the like by use of IP packets for the Internet. In a network using TS packets, the transmission is made with an Internet protocol header stored in a private field of an adaptation field defined in the TS packet. An equipment for protocol conversion between a network using TS packets and an Internet forms an IP packet for the Internet by use of the header transferred by the private data. Further, lower 8 bits of the IP address of an IP packet and lower 8 bits of the PID value of a TS packet are made the same and upper 24 bits of the IP address are converted into a 5-bit value so that the converted 5-bit value is made to correspond to upper 5 bits of the PID value.

At the same time, an encryption/decryption processing section 16 subjects information to be transmitted to encryption processing on the basis of the encryption key. The encrypted information is transmitted to the telephone line 3. On the other hand, in a called facsimile, the encryption key is reproduced on the basis of the random number sequence included in the NSS, and the received information is decrypted on the basis of the reproduced encryption key. Accordingly, the encryption key need not be determined in advance between a transmitter and a receiver. Further, the encryption key does not leak during transmission, thereby protecting the security of communication.

In order to provide a near field light head capable of guiding light efficiently to a near field light generating element, capable of being fabricated easily and at low cost and in correspondence with small-sized formation and thin-sized formation, the near field light head of the present invention has a transparent board 101 includes a near field light generating element 102 at a lower face thereof. An upper face or inside of the transparent board 101 is formed with a lens 103 to be opposed to the near field light generating element 102. The upper face of the transparent board 101 is mounted with a single mode fiber 104. The single mode fiber 104 is successively connected with a graded index (GI) fiber 105 and a coreless fiber 106. An end face of the coreless fiber 106 which is not connected to the GI fiber 105 constitutes a reflecting face 107 constituting 45 degrees relative to the upper face of the transparent board 101. The reflecting face 107 is arranged right above the lens 103.
