    摘要: A channel encoding apparatus using a parallel concatenated low density parity check (LDPC) code. A first LDPC encoder generates a first component LDPC code according to information bits received. An interleaver interleaves the information bits according to a predetermined interleaving rule. A second LDPC encoder generates a second component LDPC code according to the interleaved information bits. A controller performs a control operation such that the information bits, the first component LDPC code which is first parity bits corresponding to the information bits, and the second component LDPC code which is second parity bits corresponding to the information bits are combined according to a predetermined code rate.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for coding an irregular Repeat Accumulate (RA) code. A repeater repeats a received information word such that the information word corresponds to weights of a first information part and a second information part of a parity check matrix in which permutation matrixes are arranged in the first information part and the second information part corresponding to the information word such that a minimum length of a cycle on a factor graph of the irregular RA code becomes a predetermined length and weights are irregular, and a dual diagonal matrix is arranged in a parity part corresponding to a parity. An interleaver interleaves a signal output from the repeater using an interleaving scheme predefined for the parity check matrix. An accumulator generates the irregular RA code by accumulating a signal output from the interleaver according to a weight of the parity part.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for decoding a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code having a maximum error correction capability and an error detection capability. In the apparatus, a decoder receives a signal, and decodes the received signal according to a second parity check matrix having parity check expressions obtained by selecting a predetermined number of dependent parity check expressions among dependent parity check expressions generated by combining, with a predetermined scheme, parity check expressions representing rows of a first parity check matrix obtained by encoding information data into a block code having an optimum minimum distance considering a predetermined coding rate, and adding the selected dependent parity check expressions to the parity check expressions of the first parity check matrix. An error detector determines if there is an error in a signal output from the decoder.
