摘要: An apparatus for processing information carried by an electro-magnetic radiation beam. The apparatus includes a charge holding member for storing a charge latent image, a generator for generating an electro-magnetic radiation beam which is a superimposition of a plurality of electro-magnetic radiation beams with different wavelength ranges, a filter for separating the superimposed beam into the plurality of electro-magnetic radiation beams and a photo-conductive member provided adjacent to the charge latent image holding member and having an impedance which varies according to the intensity of each of the plurality of beams separated by the filter. Charge latent images corresponding to each of the plurality of beams are thus recorded on the charge latent image holding member. The charge latent images thus recorded on the charge latent image holding member are reproduced by means of a photo-modulation member provided instead of a photo-conductive member.

摘要: A plurality of field effect transistors are arranged in a line and have isolated open gates respectively. The gates are opposed to a surface of a charge storage medium and are subjected to respective induced voltages corresponding to a distribution of an electric surface potential of the medium. The transistors are enabled to output signals corresponding to the induced voltages respectively. The signals are sequentially transmitted from the transistors to an output terminal to generate an electric signal representative of the distribution of the electric surface potential of the medium.

摘要: There is provided a photoelectric conversion device for an electro-magnetic radiation beam incident thereto, into a charge pattern, the electro-magnetic radiation beam carrying information intended to be recorded. The device has electrodes, a photo-conductive layer member laminated to the electrodes having maximum thickness and a surface defining the maximum thickness between the electrodes, and a gap defined between the surface and a recording member disposed to face the surface of the photo-conductive layer member. There is further provided an apparatus for recording a charge latent image without losing the high resolution. The apparatus has a photoelectric conversion device having an electrode and a photo-conductive layer member on which the charge latent image is generated by projecting an optical image carrying information signals to the photo-conductive layer member, and a recording member having an electrode and a charge holding layer member facing the photo-conductive layer member to form a gap therebetween. A predetermined voltage is applied between the electrodes of the photoelectric conversion device and the recording member to transfer the charge latent image to the charge holding member by spark discharge.

摘要: A method of information conversion in which a recording medium is composed of a photoconductive member and a photo-modulation member both exhibiting a photoelectric effect and a dielectric mirror interposed therebetween, laminated to each other. An electro-magnetic radiation beam intensity-modulated with a serial information to be converted is radiated to the photoconductive member. The radiated beam is deflected straight along a surface of the photoconductive member to form a charge image composed of electric charges having an electric charge quantity corresponding to the information, as arranged in a straight line in a region on a border between the photoconductive member and dielectric mirror, corresponding to a region of the photoconductive member to which the beam is radiated. A two-dimensional bundle of electro-magnetic radiation beams of constant intensity and covering the region on the border is radiated to the recording medium at the photo-modulation member side thereof to take out a two-dimensional bundle of electro-magnetic radiation beams exhibiting intensity variation subjected to the charge image due to the photoelectric effect from the recording medium.

摘要: An electromagnetic radiation beam scanning system for scanning an object with an electromagnetic radiation beam. The scanning system comprises first and second beam-narrowing devices which are arranged so as to have elongated light-transmission regions, respectively, and which are overlapped each other so that the light-transmission regions intersect each other. Each of the beam-narrowing devices includes a light modulation layer showing an electro-optic effect, first and second electrodes disposed so as to sandwich the light modulation layer, first and second polarizers disposed so as to sandwich the light modulation layer and a power source for applying voltages to the first and second electrodes. The light modulation layer combined with the polarizers forms the elongated light-transmission region in response to application of the voltages to the first and second electrodes due to the power source so as to produce a narrowed beam when a light beam is incident thereon. The position of each of the light-transmission regions in each of the first and second beam-narrowing devices is arranged to be movable in response to variation of at least one of the application voltages due to the power source.
