    摘要: The present disclosure provides an adaptive overlapped block motion compensation apparatus employing adaptive weights including: an RBMC(x,y) calculator for calculating residual signal RBMC(x,y) in block motion estimation; a DN(x,y) calculator for calculating differential pixel value DN(x,y) between a motion compensated block generated by a motion vector of an adjacent block and a currently motion compensated block; a unit for updating and setting additional information for performing an adaptive overlapped block motion compensation based on RBMC(x,y) and DN(x,y); and an adaptive overlapped block motion compensation operating on respective pixels in certain pixel units based on the additional information, progressing to subsequent pixels if an absolute value of RBMC(x,y) is not greater than the additional information, and if the absolute value of RBMC(x,y) is greater than the additional information, calculating an ROBMC(x,y) with an HN(x,y) selectively signed so that an absolute value of ROBMC(x,y) is smaller than the absolute value of RBMC(x,y).

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a video encoding/decoding apparatus, and apparatus and method for adaptive overlapped block motion compensation by variable units for same. The apparatus and the method for adaptive overlapped block motion compensation by variable units, according to the present disclosure, when conducting a motion compensation, enable an encoder to perform an adaptive overlapped block motion compensation for a plurality of predetermined scan modes and sampling modes, and enable the encoder to calculate the computation volume occurring in said compensation and residual pixel energy, estimate the performance for each mode based on the calculation, determine an optimum scan mode and an optimum sampling mode, thus enabling a decoder to perform a motion compensation with optimum performance and less computing volume based on the determined mode.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a wavelet transform apparatus and method based on a prediction-update lifting scheme, and an adaptive prediction apparatus and method and a recording medium for the same. The disclosure comprises the steps of: setting first updated even polyphase samples influenced when being updated from corresponding odd polyphase samples, setting plural candidate groups for prediction direction based on the set first updated even polyphase samples, selecting a first prediction direction from the candidate groups to minimize the energy in a high band, obtaining a first prediction value based on the first prediction direction and the updated even polyphase samples corresponding to the first prediction direction, and obtaining residual odd polyphase samples by deducting the first prediction value from the corresponding odd polyphase samples. Therefore, the present disclosure is able to increase encoding efficiency by minimizing energy transfer to a high band signal when removing the spatial correlation within an image using a directional wavelet transform designed based on the prediction-update lifting scheme.
