    Abstract: A communication control method is executed in a relay apparatus included in a plurality of relay apparatuses in a system provided with an upstream path formed with the plurality of relay apparatuses between a user equipment and a first donor apparatus. The communication control method includes transferring, in the upstream path, data received from a lower apparatus lower than the relay apparatus to a first upper apparatus higher than the relay apparatus, buffering data having yet to be transmitted to the first upper apparatus, re-establishing, when a failure occurs in a backhaul link established between the relay apparatus and the first upper apparatus, a backhaul link of the relay apparatus with a second upper apparatus, and determining whether to transfer the buffered data to the second upper apparatus based on whether a second donor apparatus managing the second upper apparatus is identical to the first donor apparatus.

    Abstract: A communication control method according to a first aspect is a method used in a mobile communication system configured to form at least one communication path with a plurality of relay apparatuses between a user equipment and a donor apparatus. The communication control method includes: detecting, by a relay apparatus included in the plurality of relay apparatuses, a failure of a backhaul link between an upper apparatus higher than the relay apparatus and the relay apparatus; in response to the detecting of the failure in the backhaul link, transmitting, by the relay apparatus, a failure notification related to the failure of the backhaul link to a lower apparatus lower than the relay apparatus; and by the lower apparatus, in response to receiving the failure notification from the relay apparatus, stopping uplink transmission to the relay apparatus.

    Abstract: The methods, devices, and systems discussed herein describe four different mechanisms (e.g., solutions) to assist a leader of a group of wireless communication devices in deciding when to switch between groupcast and unicast transmissions. In the first solution, the group leader may decide to initiate groupcast or unicast without considering the design of the Access Stratum (AS) layer link management. In the second solution, the group leader can determine whether to initiate unicast transmission based, at least partially, on feedback messages received from one or more other members of the group. In the third solution, the group leader has the option to simultaneously transmit groupcast and unicast transmissions towards the same user equipment devices (UEs). In the fourth solution, the group leader indicates to the groupcast-receiving UEs that the transmission is about to be switched from groupcast to unicast.

    Abstract: A communication control method is a method performed in a user equipment. The communication control method includes the steps of: when a random access procedure is performed for a base station operated in an unlicensed band in which LBT before transmission is required, transmitting a message to the base station and then receiving a response to the message from the base station; and controlling the number of transmission occasions that allow the message to be transmitted before the response is received. The controlling of the number of the transmission occasions includes, when a failure occurs in an n-th (n≥1) random access procedure due to a failure of the LBT, causing the number of the transmission occasions in an (n+1)-th random access procedure to be larger than the number of the transmission occasions in the n-th random access procedure.

    Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) receives a set of Random Access preambles, determines its UAV status, and selects a Random Access preamble from the set of Random Access preambles. In some cases, the set of Random Access preambles are allocated for use by UAVs and are common to a plurality of neighboring cells. The UAV transmits the selected Random Access preamble to multiple neighboring cells. One of the neighboring cells that received the selected Random Access preamble transmits a Random Access Response to the UAV. The UAV determines which cell sent the Random Access Response, reselects to the cell that sent the Random Access Response, and transmits a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Connection Establishment Request to the reselected cell. Upon completion of a Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure, the reselected cell becomes the serving cell for the UAV.
