摘要: There is disclosed an optical switch consisting of a support substrate, a movable raw optical fiber, a fixed raw optical fiber, a magnetic member for the movable raw optical fiber, and a leaf spring. The fibers are disposed in a V-shaped groove formed in the substrate. The magnetic member is actuated by an electromagnet disposed above the substrate. The leaf spring pushes the movable raw optical fiber into the V-shaped groove. The structure of the switch is relatively simple. Since the movable raw optical fiber is pushed using the leaf spring, the switch is less affected by the assembly accuracy than conventional. It is easy to make adjustments during assembly. Consequently, high-performance, low-cost, optical switch that can be mass-produced can be offered.

摘要: A battery pack has a secondary battery connected to a plus side terminal. A protective circuit protects the secondary battery from overcharge and over-discharge. A calculation circuit operates with a minus side terminal as a reference for calculating a remaining capacity of the secondary battery. An N-channel MOS transistor is connected between the secondary battery and the minus terminal for controlling charge and discharge of the secondary battery in accordance with a signal from the protective circuit. A level shifter circuit is connected between the calculation circuit and a communication terminal.

摘要: An optical switch has at least first, second, and third optical fibers disposed generally parallel to each other and spaced at non-equal intervals in a direction substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of each of the optical fibers. The optical fibers have tip portions disposed approximately along a straight line extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of each of the optical fibers. A first non-movable guiding structure guides a beam of light emitted from the first optical fiber to the second optical fiber along a first optical path disposed between the tip portion of the first optical fiber and the tip portion of the second optical fiber. A second movable guiding structure guides the beam emitted from the first optical fiber to the third optical fiber along a second optical path disposed between the tip portion of the first optical fiber and the tip portion of the third optical fiber so that a length of the second optical path is substantially equal to a length of the first optical path.

摘要: A magnetic field detecting circuit has a relaxation oscillator SQUID. An oscillator circuit includes a coil and a resistor connected together in series. The oscillator circuit produces an output signal having an oscillating frequency dependent on an applied DC bias current. A magnetic field input circuit is magnetically coupled with the coil of the oscillator circuit for applying a magnetic field. A Josephson device is connected in parallel with the oscillator circuit for converting the magnetic field to an electric signal for varying the oscillating frequency dependent on the magnetic field. The magnetic field is detected by detecting a variation of the oscillating frequency. The sensitivity of the magnetic field detecting circuit is improved by magnetically coupling an RF-SQUID with an input coil to form the magnetic field input circuit. To provide a multi-channel magnetic field detecting circuit, a plurality of oscillator circuits are connected in series with each other, and a respective Josephson device is connected in parallel with each corresponding oscillator circuit. A plurality of magnetic field input circuits are each magnetically coupled with the coil of a respective oscillator circuit, and a plurality of control lines are magnetically coupled with each respective Josephson device to vary the critical current of the Josephson device to thereby control the oscillation frequency of each oscillator circuit.
