    摘要: A storage system of this invention maintains consistency of the stored contents between volumes even when a plurality of remote copying operations are executed asynchronously. A plurality of primary storage control devices and a plurality of secondary storage control devices are connected by a plurality of paths, and remote copying is performed asynchronously between respective first volumes and second volumes. Write data transferred from the primary storage control device to the secondary storage control device is held in a write data storage portion. Update order information, including write times and sequential numbers, is managed by update order information management portions. An update control portion collects update order information from each update order information management portion, determines the time at which update of each second volume is possible, and notifies each-update portion. By this means, the stored contents of each second volume can be updated up to the time at which update is possible.

    摘要: In the conventional storage system, consistency is ensured only for writing from a single storage. Asynchronous remote copying and local replication are also alternately suspended in the conventional system, so that the suspension time increases and the volume in which consistency is obtained becomes old. Two local replicas are prepared, for a volume containing stored data that is transferred from the main site by asynchronous remote copying, in the storage at the sub-site. Each pair of local replicas is alternately suspended by a time-specific suspension command according to the time of the timestamp attached to the write data, and replica data in which the time sequence is secured is continually prepared. When a failure occurs at the main site, the data is recovered using the replica data.

    摘要: In a storage system that executes multi-target remote copying, the identity of data across two secondary storage subsystems may be quickly and flexibly ensured. The storage system includes a first storage subsystem that has a first storage area and multiple second storage subsystems that each have a second storage area to store duplicate data for data stored in the first storage area. In this storage system, a write process that writes write data to the first storage area is executed. In response to the write process, the write data is copied to the second storage area of each second storage subsystem. Furthermore, a write section that the copy information belongs to, wherein the copy information that corresponds to the write process, is determined for each write process. In addition, history information regarding each executed copy operation is created for each write section to which the copy information used for such operation belongs.

The present system has plural primary storage systems each having a source volume and plural secondary storage systems each having a target volume. Once data is received from a host, each of the plural storage systems creates write-data management information having sequential numbers and reference information and sends, to one of the primary storage systems, the data, sequential number and reference information. Each of the secondary storage systems records reference information corresponding to the larges sequential number among serial sequential numbers and stores, in a target volume in an order of sequential numbers, data corresponding to reference information having a value smaller than the reference information based on the smallest value reference information among reference information recorded in each of the plural secondary storage systems.
